Danora moved over to the console as the Chief moved under the sphere. She wanted to see what the telemetry was saying. Was it a gatherer, hunter, or something less benign? “Ok, baby… let’s see what you are doing in that mechanical head of yours.” She was murmuring to herself under her breath. Only someone beside her would hear her words. She danced her fingers over the computer with precision. She was looking for anything that would give her deeper insight into the sphere.

OOC: Beautiful. Cookies all around.
IC:
What they could determine was this: the inner sphere was completely smooth and had no sort of controls or mechanisms. All the controls and computer parts were in the space between the inner and outer sphere and those systems controlled both the inner workings of the sphere and the outer shielding that had turned off when the sphere powered down. While it was possible the morphogenic being could have created some sort of tool of control, it was unlikely to have done anything. Also, the environmental settings had been maintained at constant levels for a very long time. As far as they could tell, the sphere hadn’t actively gathered data. It had been all about maintaining equilibrium within the sphere and protecting it.

With all the scans they would definitely have enough info to create a holographic simulation of the sphere.

“Got it!” Danora smiled and turned to the others. “So it seems the inside was merely made to maintain an atmosphere for the creature. I have enough to make a holo of the sphere. If I use the holodeck, I could make a room size version of…” she waved her hands at the sphere. “At that. I haven’t been able to find any kind of information cache. But if I’m right, this may have just been a transportation vessel. Maybe in a larger sim, I can see if it was simply shot in a singular direction and told don’t come back or if it was given a destination where it would deposit our guest.” She laughed at the word guest as she realized that wasn’t exactly the case.

Enger nodded, “Good job, Lt. Go, take your partner, and get to the holodeck and find us some answer. And don’t forget the temperature has been dropped 10 degrees in the rest of the ship.” No one went anywhere without a partner with a morphogenic being on board she also didn’t want the sudden change in temp to shock anyone’s systems. And Enger knew, from long experience, it was, 98% of the time, mind over matter.

Danora nodded. A quick jog to the holodeck would keep her warm. “Partner?” She hadn’t considered that. With a shrug, she laughed lightly. “So who wants to join me in making a larger sphere and playing ‘morphic entity’ as we try and figure out what’s going on?” She had already sent the program to the holosuite and was pleased to hear a beep a moment later that let her know the program was ready on her mark.

Karina glanced sharply at Danora but spoke calmly and softly. “Yes Lt. a partner. The captain announced changling protocols. That means you don’t go anywhere alone and you are armed with a phaser.” She had collected her phaser, perhaps the woman was one of those that became so engrossed in the work so quickly nothing else registered to her short or long term memory. Karina made note of that to make sure the woman stayed safe. She nodded to one of the ops NEs working the shuttle bay. “Go with her.”
OOC: Unless someone else wants to go then please do.
Enger, XO

Mark looked up from the scans he was performing. “If a science crew took over here, there’s probably more I can do working on a larger image of what we’re scanning here, Commander. A science team may have more lack on tracing the origins of the probe or translating the message.”

Standing up from the probe’s hatch, Mark wiped off his hands and made sure his phaser was still holstered. “I can go with Danora to the holodeck.”

-Lt. (j.g.) Sinclair, CE

Karina nodded. Sinclair knew where he could be used best. She glanced at Janzen, “Cmdr if you would, take over where LT Sinclair and Lt Danora were working. Get anyone you need down here to help you.”
Enger, XO

OOC: Cross posting from bridge
Tralla sighed Feeling the temperature drop it felt really nice at least for her she knew the rest of her crew was probably a bit uncomfortable =^=”All decks status report!”=^= she called she wanted this thing found and quick

Tralla

“Yes ma’am.” BJ went inside the probe and took a look around. He wanted to see what the engineers had seen first. He wasn’t sure who he would need as he needed to understand what he was seeing.

Janzen

OOC: You can’t walk inside. It’s not that big. It’s also not empty except for the inner sphere. If you have specific things you’re looking at, I can try to give you specific answers.

~Mischief Maker

OCC: I have no idea what I’m looking for. I was taking a peek to see what the engineers had already seen. I hadn’t been inside yet.

BJ

OOC: If you want something you can do, I would suggest following up with the AI about the message that was not immediately translatable. You might want to focus there (it might require a location change) as it could tell you something important about the situation. :) ~Linds, Giver of Hints

Danora was pleased the Chief would be her partner. Besides admiring him as a Security Chief, she also knew his head wouldn’t get so involved in what they were doing that they would get snuck up on if something happened. She smiled to the Chief, already thinking more about the holoprogram than being safe. Though she ‘did’ have the foresight to pause at the doorway and glance at the ceiling as if sure the morphling was going to drop down in front of her. “Guess we’re clear,” she smiled to the XO and the Chief as she stepped into the hall. The temperature difference wasn’t completely discomforting, but certainly noticeable.

“I promise I will try not to go anywhere on my own.” She was sincere in the statement. She would try her best to remember there was still a threat. Another reason the holodeck was a good place to be. She wasn’t likely to wander off from there.

Stepping into the hallway she waited for the Chief to join her.
