Karina sat in a chair across from Tralla and sipped at her coffee. Her face broke into a grin listening to the NE bridge staff try to trade insults with Grumpy on the other side of the door. “It must be an interesting…” she wasn’t sure of the word, she could picture the thought and the emotion…”predicament to be his boss.” Karina did not envy the fine line Tralla walked having her husband serve under her. She thought it was wonderful, but with Cairn all thoughts were open and freely shared so there was no chance of nepotism and if there was it would not go unchecked, and would not be wrongly speculated about. Karina had found recently that her own personal relationships were becoming more serious than she’d anticipated and she found herself using Tralla as a role model. Karina liked the coffee the captain had offered, it was different. “What is this blend, it is…un…unfamiliar to me.”
