Zero looked at the captain “well if I remember correctly the bio bed keeps records of everything that sits and lay down on it we can take that data and fine-tune to ship sensors” he said “oh and doctor I only walked in here to so you and the captain that some of the message on the device has been translated” with that zero Turn on this heel again and left sick day.

Jack put on a calm expression both from the tirade from the Security Chief and the put down from the Captain, he inclined his head in an apologetic manner. She was right of course and the obtuse Security Chief was not entirely incorrect but he wouldn’t tell the man that… at least not right now “The being did not sit on the bed nor did I scan it” He said putting his hand behind his back “It displayed intelligence and perhaps a hint of philosophical thought, I’m not certain as to why it took the form of a child as of yet but it did seem to want to communicate. That’s why I did not do as Lieutenant Zero…” He hesitated “asked and put did not put up a field and decided to call you, Ma’am. I apologize for overreaching but I do stand by my decision” He said the last sentence quietly so the medical staff that was moving around again would not overhear.”

BJ walked in with his forensics kit on his shoulder. The fishing tackle bag held all he would need to scan or swab for further analysis. “Present and accounted for Captain.”

Zero was outside sickbay talking with his security team “ ok I want teams of two in the affective lockdown area” he said as he assign officers to there areas.

“Sir, since no one actually saw him leave that room, what if he’s still in there and just hiding from the two of us coming in and scaring him?” Ensign Brekag asked.
Ensign Brekag, securityJack nodded “I didn’t have a chance to do any scans but the internal systems seemed to detect where it went.” He joined the Chief Scientist “It spent most of it’s time under that biobed, there may be some residuals you can trace”

BJ opened up the top flap of his bag. He took out one of the plastic cases and closed the bag. He put the case on the bag; opening it to get out a specialty tricorder and set of swabs. He got down under the biobed to get his sample. “Knowing where you’ve been doesn’t tell you where you’re going.”

As he looked underneath there was a small trace of the genetic information left behind when a changeling had been (even briefly) in its natural form. And hanging off the underside of the biobed was a butterfly in shimmering blue and purple.
