JT entered sickbay with a PADD in hand. After his most recent mission it was full of updates due to some injuries that happened. The doctors were going to love not being able to know the cause of them. * “oh Well” * he thought as he looked over the PADD. Looking around he tried to spot someone who wasn’t busy.

XO

A tall man in a white coat approached the Commander, he had short well-styled blond hair and blue eyes. He examined the officer carefully and intensely before nodding to himself “Lieutenant Commander Robinson I presume, I’m Doctor Grey” He spoke quickly but still with the respect due a superior.

Dr. Grey - CMO

“Hey Doc,” the XO started. “I just got back aboard and needed to stop by for my exam and give you some…updates for my file” he finished as he handed over the PADD. in it it would list several injuries that were not properly addressed at the time, very un-starfleet like. While none of the injuries were life threatening on their own, the quantity and poor treatment would certainly raise some questions.

The list of injuries sustained in the last 4 months: 3 broken Ribs & 2 additional bruised ones. Several lacerations. Nerve damage in back causing constant although tolerable pain. Plasma burns on upper arms and chest. Various muscle bruising through out his body. 2 Concussions.

All the listed injuries were dealt with but scans would show that they were not handled in proper medical facilities leaving some scarring and other signs.

Jack read the PaDD once, sniffed and tossed the device on a nearby table. He pointed to the bed indicating that the new First Officer should take a seat and grabbed his Tricorder and started the medical scanned and tisked in annoyance “Where did you get medical treatment? A Butchers shop?” His tone was annoyed but his facial expression remained neutral.

JT took the empty bio bed and sat still as the doctor scanned him “I wish.. My butcher always treated his livestock with dignity and respect from field to table” He quipped

XO

Jack gave the older man a level stare, showing not even the slightest hint of amusement “I’d advise you to answer my questions Commander, I’d hate for you to spend your first weeks on this ship under medical care” His tone had the same briskness, he checked to see if there was anything he needed to fix.

Dr. Grey - CMO

Sorry Doc, I am limited in what I can say or explain. I can say that i think one of my ribs didn’t heal right occasionally I feel a jabby pain near the end of it” THe doctors scan would confirm that the rib had ‘healed’ but fused itself at an odd angle and was poking some tissue around the lungs.

XO

Jack frowned and turned around, gathering some medical equipment and mumbling something to himself, it wasn’t in Standard but the inflexions sounded like swearing. Finally, he turned back to him “Lie down, I have to break your rib again and use an Osteogenic simulator to fuse it correctly” He took a small device and prepared.

BUMP

The XO laid back as instructed and awaited the procedure. it will be nice to breathe again he thought to himself.

XO

Jack gave the Commander a satisfied nod and raised the device to the man’s broken ribs “Now this is going to feel like a kick in the ribs” He said as he pressed the button and a small purple light emerged, the device locked on the badly healed rib, It only took a moment to rebreak it.

“Any chance ya could give me a sedat…” JT started to ask as the machine ‘kicked’ and the XO winced in pain

In a quick motion of his hands he replaced the bone breaker with an Osteogenic Stimulator and started the repair work, he could, of course, have given the man a sedative but Jack didn’t see a reason to waste supplies on such a minor injury. Besides, it would hurt less than having it broken whichever way it had been broken to start with.

Dr. Grey - CMO

As the Machine did its work, JT could feel himself breathing easier and the pain going away.
