Sighing as she saw the invite, Danora shook her head. She wasn’t fond of ship wide parties. The crowds seemed pointless and she never knew how to talk to crewmates who weren’t engineers or into AI like she was. The only saving grace, in her mind, was she would see the XO. It still amazed her he had come back in that capacity. She hadn’t realized how much she had missed him being around till he had arrived back on the ship in a shuttle that shouldn’t have been able to fly, much less keep him alive. But she was glad it had.

Making sure her uniform was neat and clean, she merely used a couple more pins to tuck her hair back up in places it had wisped free around her face. She wasn’t going to go through the hassle of redoing it, not for this. But she wanted to at least be presentable. And in a uniform, she knew she didn’t have to worry about whether the colors, cut or style of clothing were right or appropriate.

Stepping into the lounge, she glanced around at those already assembled. Thinking to get a drink, she headed to the replicators. A smile of genuine warmth lit her face as she saw the XO there. “Evening, Sir. Can I help with anything?” She was sure the XO and CO were putting on the party and wanted to help out. And it gave her a reason to be around him.

JT could feel his eyes widen and a smile come across his face when Danora entered and approached him at the replicator “Keep me company?” he responded with a smile as the tray of drinks materialized. Taking the tray out and looking at the engineer he rose it slightly towards her “Care for a drink?” he asked.

Danora blushed and nodded. “I’d be happy to.” She took the first off the trays that appeared. “As for drinks, let’s help the others get theirs, then we can manage it’s without the ice watering it down.” She helped him pass the drinks to the others.

in short order, everything was set up “Now we just wait for everyone else to show up!” she said Other people were filtering in though mostly NEs and NLTs but still Tralla moved off over by herself to watch her crew be social and happy

Aidan walked into 2 Forward and stopped just inside the door, surveying the gathered crew. He was still trying to learn everyone’s names, and get settled into a new routine, so for now he was content to stand on the side and see what was going to happen.

Moving around the room, he nodded to a few of the other security officers he had met so far.

BJ entered awaiting what his wife had planned. A party needed music. But, there didn’t seem to be a band on board. Not that he couldn’t help out with that.

As her tray emptied, she excused herself from JT’s side and went back to get their drinks. Doing a quick query as to the most frequent ordered drink from the new XO, she added a second one for herself and moved back through the crowd. Tapping Robinson on the shoulder, she waited till he turned, and smiled. “Rumor has it, this is your favorite.” She handed him the drink and hoped she hadn’t chosen wrong.

JT saw the drink and smiled at the Engineer. “Just what the doctor ordered” he joked as he took the drink. Then motioning towards an empty table near the window he asked “Shall we?”

After a while of mingling it seemd everyone who was going to show had Tralla stepped forward and tapped her glass with a fork to get everyone’s attention “I actually have a special announcment as part of why I have gathered you all here today In this last mission there was an Officer who stepped up and was dedicated to learning all she could about our visitor’s prison and with the departure of our former Chief Engineer to new adventures We are in need of a new Chief So Lieutenant Danora Allance Please come up here” she said looking to the Chief Engineer with a smile

Tralla

Danora was sitting with the XO near the window when the clink of silverware on glass took her attention from the stars outside. She had been smiling and nodding to others as they passed. Sure, she was being polite. But in truth it was because this was the first time her and JT had been together since the night he had arrived and they weren’t just passing or speaking about work. She had been stalling.

But now, as she listened, half expecting one of the security team to be called up for bravery, et cetera et cetera, she heard her own name. Stunned, it took her a moment to register and process what had been said. Setting her glass down on the table, she glanced at the XO with an expression that was both pleading to be let out the spotlight, as well as begging him to tell her what was happening. When no answer was immediately forthcoming, she turned to the CO and smiled as she stepped towards the woman. “Ma’am…” she murmured with a nod when she was within a few paces of the Captain.
