Thylir beamed on board the Memorial from the small transport ship that had brought him to intercept his new assignment. He looked around as he stepped off the transporter pad, thinking about the events last time he had been shipboard on an assignment. The events that would never happen again.

The half-aenar, half-andorian cleared his head and walked to sickbay at a brisk pace. As the doors hissed open to admit him, he looked for the CMO and told him “Ensign Ch’erhan, reporting for duty.”

Ens. Ch’erhan

The Memorials Chief Medical Officer was a tall lithe man in his early thirties with well-groomed blond hair. He turned around almost mechanically and blue eyes scanned the Andoran Ensign with a calculating appraisal “I am Doctor Grey” He said, his voice was cold yet polite. He put hands behind his back “I will perform your medical examination and your interview simultaneously, please sit” He indicated to a nearby biobed.

Thylir sat on the bed, likewise appraising his superior. “Understood. I am Ensign Thylir Ch’erhan.”

Ens. Ch’erhan

Jack inclined his head in a marginal nod “Indeed it is” He removed the tricorder from his coat pocket and in a fluid motion removed the scanner wand and began the familiar slight wave and started the medical scan “Your file stated that you changed professions from Security to Medical, why?” His question was blunt in wording but his tone remained polite.

“I originally intended to spend my career in security, but after an incident on the Polaris, I had a change in my outlook.” Thylir was clearly uncomfortable discussing the incident in question, and his posture shifted to be more closed and almost combative. Both antennae flared back on his head, laying flat on top of his hair.

Jack simply nodded as he continued the scan “My cousin Served on the Polaris when he first graduated. Served a year as CMO before leaving” He said idly as he read the scans “Which field of medicine did you specialize in?” He asked.

(OOC: Sorry, I’ve been really busy and somehow missed that you’d replied.)

“Emergency Medicine,” Thylir said matter-of-factly, then whispered under his breath, “It will never happen again.”

Ens. Ch’erhan

Jack cocked his head at the whispered word but made no comment. He looked at the results of the scanner “That will make you a useful member of an Away team combined with your Security training” He spoke in a musing tone.

“I suppose it will.” According to the scanner, Thylir was healthy, although he had several healed injuries and scars.

Jack nodded and closed his scanner, placing it back into his coat pocket “Before I finish do you have any questions?” He asked

Dr. Grey - CMO
“No sir. Do you need me for anything, or should I proceed to my Psych exam?”

Ens. Ch’erhan

“No go ahead, I have you set on Beta shift to start with but you’ll begin the standard shift rotation after your first week.”
