Commander Massana came onto the Bridge shaking his head. He’d known that the Memorial-class was an upgrade of the Pendragon-class, but he’d forgotten that it was technically not an upgrade, but an overhaul. As such, he had forgotten that saying the deck number, as he had become accustomed to on his previous vessel, would not immediately place him on the Bridge. He had emerged in a corridor and had to summon another turbolift to actually get to the Bridge in order to report to the Captain. It would take him a little while to get used to being on the Memorial, even though he had studied the ship thoroughly before coming aboard. He nodded to the Bridge crew, clearly in their second shift, before walking over to the Ready Room door and pressing the chime.“Commander Dantius Massana, reporting to the Commanding Officer of the USS Memorial,” he said, a lilt in his voice and something vaguely resembling a French tone betraying his island background.
