Simon set in the medical bay of the Memorial waiting for one of the many members of medical to clear him for duty.

The Memorial was a grand ship. Name’s sake of her line, and Simon was impressed with what he saw. The ship was part of Star Fleet’s unofficial militarization after the Dominion War. It was a move that Simon really didn’t like. Still, it wasn’t his place to question such things, even if he didn’t approve of them.

He scanned the medical bay wondering which medical person would be seeing him. He checked his watch and frowned, “I am already running late,” he said with frustration in his voice.

“We can only apologise for the inconvenience” Came a calm and kind sounding voice. It belonged to KT who was crossing the room, if one was unfamiliar with KT they might wonder how she could possible hear from across the room. But for those that knew it was an easy answer.

Turning to the new voice, Simon nodded with respect to the approaching officer.

KT was a tall athletic looking woman with mottled green skin, yellow eyes and soft ridges on her fore head leading to her long black hair. “It would seem most of the ship decided to visit sickbay today.” she said her tone still polite “My Name is Lieutenant KT-QT, I’m the chef medical officer. What can I do for you today?” she asked grabbing a tri-corder as she got closer.

“Lieutenant Simon Crisk, Engineering,” he said softly and offered his hand for a shake. “I am here for my annual checkup.” He shifted to get more comfortable. He knew she would suggest cutting off those real cigars as the risk of lung damage was there, even if very minor. Truthfully though, it was his only real vice, and he wasn’t about to quit it. He knew beyond that; she would give him a clean bill of health. After all, he worked pretty hard at keeping up his health.
