After finishing his Medical Examination Tyr returned to his quarters, took a quick sonic shower, and put on a fresh uniform. He fussed with his hair for a few minutes then finally decided he needed another shave, his chin was already turning a darker shade with rapidly growing stubble. He grabbed the standard-issue razer and did a quick once over, careful not to cut too close. He checked himself over for a final time before attaching his combadge to his uniform and leaving his new quarters for the second time that day.
Once he’d made his way to deck 11 he did a quick breathing exercise. He’d been overly stiff in Sickbay, he wasn’t sure however if that would be a positive or a negative when meeting his new Department head. He entered the security offices. The atmosphere here was the opposite of Sickbay, as soon as the door opened there were at least three sets of eyes on him before he had a chance to make his visual scan of the room. He hesitated only for a moment then stepped through the doors. He walked across the room, nodding to other officers, most of which had stopped paying him any attention. He finally stepped outside the Security Chiefs office and hit the chime, he had already been hesitant enough for today.
Once he heard the call to enter Tyr took a step into the office, clasped his hands behind his back, and stood at attention. He recalled advice his brother had given him Don’t shout, speak in a calm respectful tone, this isn’t a holoplay and you aren’t reporting to a flag officer. Firm but polite, show backbone and confidence but don’t be overly arrogant. And for the love of Cochrane don’t make them a ‘sir sandwhich’ “Ensign Týr Bragason, reporting for duty..” He hesitated for a moment, Baldur had never explained what a ‘sir sandwich’ was. “Ma’am” He finished only a fraction of a second later.
