BJ had yet to -do his pre-boarding counseling session. This was one of the few things he didn’t like to do. The last time he had been in session like this he had lost Marissa. That was his lowest point. But, he had been through it. He had moved forward to his wife.

BJ entered the office when he was prompted. He sat in the chair in front of the desk ready to go.

“Welcome to the Memorial. Please call me Tera. I’m guessing you’re standard counseling session brings you here yes?” she asked in a lighthearted manner. For some reason there were never enough notes in anybody’s file to give her an adequate opening line.

-Tera, CNS

“Yeah.”

Janzen

Tera wondered if he was not a big talker in the first place, or did counseling bring it out in him.

“Don’t worry, this won’t hurt a bit. I like to talk to people more than look at their files most of the time. Why don’t we start by having you tell me a bit about yourself?” she said calmly.

-Tera, CNS

That was something that he didn’t enjoy doing. “Alright. I was born in a small town in Canada. Entered Starfleet after high school. I’ve been on the Ark Angel since graduating until transferring over with the new Captain.”

Janzen

Tera really didn’t like prying things form people during an evaluation and did her best to avoid that usually.

“Do you have any other family in Star Fleet?” she asked hoping he would open up just a little.

Tera, CNS

“No just me. The rest of the family is still back in Hastings. I don’t get to see them much. The Angel was always on the move. But, I enjoyed whee the ship has gone.”

Janzen

Tera figured as much. People who had family in Star Fleet usually liked to acknowledge their existence.

“And how did you choose your MOS?” she asked.

Tera, CNS

“I’ve been always curious about the world around me. I guess I just fell into the sciences.”

Janzen

Tera wondered if it was also because the field didn’t require much personal communication, but that wasn’t very kind and she didn’t know this man.

“Do you have a specific specialty or do all of the sciences interest you?” she asked patiently.

Tera, CNS

“My specialty is physics. But, I was the chief science officer my previous assignment. So I did have to deal with variety of science subjects. Unfortunately, most of what the Angel did I don’t believe I’m allowed to discussed it. “
