What would you say is the most difficult part of it all? The most rewarding?” Lissan kept her commentary soft, quick. This was less about her interrogation of his psyche than learning who Janzen was as a person. Despite being a strong telepath, there were still some things only interaction could say for certain.

Dr. Lissan
CNS

That was a good question. “Well the most difficult part is that I’m not Lilith’s biological father; either one. And she also knows it too. So I’m constantly trying not to push her too hard. I want a positive relationship. But, I know I need to be more of a father to her. It’s hard to juggle. I don’t want to push her away. The most rewarding is building that relationship with her and her mother. It’s exciting to see how she and I are creating this new family.”

Janzen

Lissan could fend off the smile that ravaged her expression. Blended families, as she preferred to call them, were among the most special of bonds. It was always rewarding to hear of or see them forming bonds despite no genetic relation to each other. “That’s beautiful, Janzen.” Zenobia fell quiet for a moment, glancing over at her note pad. Pushing it away, she returned her attention to BJ. “Tell me about Lilith, through your eyes.

Dr. Lissan

He didn’t know his daughter that well. That was part of his problem. “She so much like her mother. She’s headstrong. intelligent; I wish I knew her better. She wants to be an engineer; like her mom. She’d be good at it.”

Janzen

Tralla had just gotten a few moments to be able to go to her own Counseling session she knew BJ was in the middle of his Session with the counselor but she knew he would not mind if they combined their sessions She walked upto the office and rang the chime

Tralla

I—.” Lissan was cut off by the sound of the chime. Furrowing her eyebrows, she checked her appointment list. She didn’t have anything scheduled for the time being. “Just a second, Commander.” She frowned, “Come in!*” The mechanical voice escaped her with ease.

When the door opened an Andorian woman standing about 5’ 10” she had the most vibrant emerald green eyes that are obviously Cybernetic implants there are the telltale signs of former borg asimilation on her right hand it was the Captain “Sorry to intrude Counselor I know I need to get my session with you in as well and I knew my husbands was right now as well so I hope your both ok with the idea of turning this into a couples session?” she asked smiling

Tralla

By all means, Captain,” Lissan stepped to the side, inviting the taller woman inside. “Come join us.

Dr. Lissan
CNS

She came in and sat next to her husband taking his hand and holding it showing her affection for him as she waited for the counselor to restart the session

Tralla

We were just chatting about your daughter and how incredible she is, Captain.” Lissan smiled, climbing back into her chair. “How do you feel your relationship with your daughter is?

Dr. Lissan
CNS

Tralla looked at BJ then Sighed “Well its not exactly in the best of shape I was not really part of her life I and my Bond mates split up shortly after she was born due to me going to Starfleet Academy her fathers died when she was 2 they took her fishing with them when the Andoria weather control system had a glitch a hurricane developed they managed to get her to safety at the cost of their own lives my ex-wife raised her for most of her life until she was killed on a world that borders Klingon space by Orion pirates she was an archeologist and they were studying some ruins…this was a few years ago while I was stationed on the USS Ark Angel this was also about when the Ark Angel name was transferred from the Mjolnir class to the Mythology class I had a choice send her to live with her grandparents or take her with me on the Ark Angel so I decided to try and repair my relationship with her I have tried but it has not been easy” she explained her Antenna dropping in shame at her family issues “I just wish I had been a much better mother and been brave enough to bring her into my life despite the dangers of Starfleet” she added

Tralla

In sympathy, Lissan’s antennae bent. She fought the frown from her face, but failed to discourage its form. “Your bondmates died with great honour, Captain; they did well in protecting your daughter from the dangers that faced her.

Once again she was being too hard on herself. They both had much to learn about bringing up their daughter. And that was the point. Lilith was both their child. “We both have to work on raising her. I’m not much better. I’ve already mentioned that.”

Janzen

But Commander Janzen is right. Parenthood is eighteen years, or more, of trials and tribulation. You’re not going to get everything right, and there are time when you’re going to feel hopeless. Every parent has been there,” Lissan leaned forwards, clasping her hands on the tabletop. “And you know what? That’s nothing to be ashamed of, either of you. So long as you’re making mistakes, you’re growing; so long as you’re growing, your becoming better parents for your daughter.” She smiled, “Captain, we all make decisions because we want our family to be safe. They’re not always the best decisions, but they’re in their best interest. Feeling shame for the past won’t fix anything, you just have to try and make the future better.

Dr. Lissan
CNS

Tralla smiled and nodded at what the counselor had said about her bondmates and nodded again when she reasured her about her mistakes “Its true but that does not stop her from resenting me…and being such a trouble maker” she added clearly upset still

Tralla

OCC Bump

How old is your daughter, Captain?” Lissan tilted her head slightly, her gaze as curious as it was sympathetic. “Children are privvy to trouble, especially those with Andorian in their blood. Our people are known to act on impulse and feed off of emotion, perhaps she is reacting to your emotion or bouncing off a deeper displeasure of her own.. something she doesn’t know how to process?” She spitballed.

Dr. Lissan, CNS

That was good to know. That was one of the things that drew him to Tralla. He loved her passion. That did sometime backfire. “She’d be around 9 or 10 now. At least I think so.”

Janzen

Zenobia nodded to Janzen, considering the girl’s youth.

“Yeah, she’s 10 years old now as for the other thing you mentioned I don’t know maybe she senses that I am not happy about how bad a parent I have been” she sighed “Do you think it might be a good idea for me to bring her to see you? She has been to see quite a few counselors so I am also worried that might be part of the problem” she said sadly

Tralla

If she need someone to talk to, who isn’t family, you are more than welcome to bring her to me. Although, it must be her choice. She may be a child, but she must have some autonomy in her own life, or she might grow to feel trapped.” Lissan returned, tilting her head. “Honesty is essential with your children, but you may be right..it is possible she is reacting to the emotion your putting off. Perhaps try seeming happier around her? Try to create an environment she wants to be in; one you all want to be in.

Lissan, CNS
