How old is your daughter, Captain?” Lissan tilted her head slightly, her gaze as curious as it was sympathetic. “Children are privvy to trouble, especially those with Andorian in their blood. Our people are known to act on impulse and feed off of emotion, perhaps she is reacting to your emotion or bouncing off a deeper displeasure of her own.. something she doesn’t know how to process?” She spitballed.

Dr. Lissan, CNS

That was good to know. That was one of the things that drew him to Tralla. He loved her passion. That did sometime backfire. “She’d be around 9 or 10 now. At least I think so.”

Janzen

Zenobia nodded to Janzen, considering the girl’s youth.

“Yeah, she’s 10 years old now as for the other thing you mentioned I don’t know maybe she senses that I am not happy about how bad a parent I have been” she sighed “Do you think it might be a good idea for me to bring her to see you? She has been to see quite a few counselors so I am also worried that might be part of the problem” she said sadly

Tralla

If she need someone to talk to, who isn’t family, you are more than welcome to bring her to me. Although, it must be her choice. She may be a child, but she must have some autonomy in her own life, or she might grow to feel trapped.” Lissan returned, tilting her head. “Honesty is essential with your children, but you may be right..it is possible she is reacting to the emotion your putting off. Perhaps try seeming happier around her? Try to create an environment she wants to be in; one you all want to be in.

“There is another possibility one I had hoped was not an Issue but things had been getting better until…I was assimilated by the Borg it was only for about an hour or so but…” she raised her left hand there were the signs of an Assimilation Tubeual implant remained she pointed to her eyes as well showing the scars of her brush with the collective “The Damage was done…Im afraid that she might be picking up that im in constant pain from headaches due to these ocular implants not to mention I still have Nightmares about being a drone…It was one of the worst times of my life” she said

If Lissan had looked into the Captains file she might have learned that the Captian had also been at one time diagnosed with a light case of PTSD which was found to be manageable however it had been one of the factors in an event that gave her a temporary demotion to that of Ensign

Lissan looked upon the Captain with great sympathy. She had read into her file, and knew she suffered from PTSD, a disorder that had no face. It was an obstacle the victim had to deal with in a way that they saw fit, but she would offer her services should Tralla ever need them.

There are moments in our past which define us; times that we cannot change no matter how much they pain us. It is not your fault you were assimilated, I hope you know that.” She contemplated Tralla a moment, shifting her attention between her and the man sitting beside her. “How you deal with your pain is by your own jurisdiction, Captain. But you’re absolutely right, children are perhaps some of the most observant people in the universe–when they want to be. I’ve little doubt she doesn’t see the pain you suffer. I cannot tell you how to fix it, but I can say that dealing with your trauma may be the first step to mending the strain between you. I am not saying therapy of any sort, but finding a way to work through the pain–whether it’s in exercise, arts, baking, dance–whatever you can think of, you just need to find something to help you cope. As your stress levels fall, your nights growing calmer as those nightmares hopefully fade, I think you’ll notice a difference in your daughter.” She smiled. “Have you spoken with Doctor Grey about alternatives for your implants? Other methods which could decrease the pain?

she nodded “Though I am afraid there is no way to get rid of the rest of these implants They could regenerate my natural eyes but there is a 50-50 chance I would be blind and would need these anyway so…yeah” she explained “I will, of course, take any suggestion and will talk to Lilith about coming to see you” she said with a sigh

Tralla

I’m sorry to hear that, Captain.” Lissan was in the firm belief that nobody should have to live in pain, regardless of who they were. She had joined this profession in search of finding ways to make it easier to deal with that pain. Unfortunately, this was not a kind she could help with. “All right. If you need anything from me until then, if even a listening ear, I’m here.

Dr. Lissan, CNS

“Its alright I have been learning to live with it…and thank you I will keep that in mind…Honey do you have anything else you want to talk to the counselor about?” she asked sweetly

Tralla

He was hurt that she wouldn’t tell him these things He didn’t like that she was hurting. “Why didn’t you tell me that? I could see it; but I didn’t know. Maybe Lilith sees it in both of us.” He didn’t like that she kept it from. But, he also understood. “It’s been hard to communicate since she and I have moved. We seem to have no time for each other.”

Janzen

“Honey you know I have been fighting this You were in the doctor’s appointments with me and heard them say that I was probably going to be in permanent pain,” she said a little annoyed that he was acting this way

Tralla

“I was there.”he responded. “But, you could talk to me about the nightmares. I feel distant cause I can’t get help you.”

Janzen

“I’m sorry darling but I felt its just something that I did not want to bother you with” she said with a sigh

Tralla

Lissan chose to maintain her silence, listening as the couple discussed the matter. Her gentle expression spoke greater volumes. She would act as support, but she would not intervene with any opinion of her own.

Dr. Lissan, CNS

she simply gave Lissan a look almost as if asking ‘Am I in the wrong here?’ she seemed to be very concenered that she had infact damaged her second marrage “Listen I am not…very good at this Being married thing I mean my last one was to satisfy tradition and then we split up I know I have a lot to learn but even still…” she said not quite sure what else to say

Tralla

Lissan returned her expression with a subtle, albeit gentle shake of her head. Neither of them were wrong, she knew that although she questioned if they did. And if so..were they willing to accept they were both right? She wanted to speak, to say something, but it wasn’t her place to upset their progress..even if it seemed less than such.
