NC Willickers sighed, as was usual all the exciting things were happening elsewhere on the ship and due to being caught sleeping on the job while cleaning waste processing his department Chief had caught him mentally wandering about the newest holodeck game to hit the Federation network. As a result he had been regulated to a standing position in transporter room 2 for the coming mission. “..But, ah man Duty Calls To War 9 looks so amazing! Those reprocessed updated graphics for the holodecks are amazing! I mean they’re better then real life. What a jip, here I am stuck in my low polygon world and the holodeck game looks WAY better!!” He thought, smiling a dreamy smile as he leaned on the console in front of him. “..Ah man and those sweet lens flares! So many beautiful lens flares! They’re blinding in their beauty!” He thought going on. “..Life sucks..” he muttered then.

The doors woosh open and Ensign Snart walks in and see the the transport controller. “Hey Willickers seems to be I am the first one here, how have you been anyhow? Asked Anthony in a friendly manner.

”..Oh welllll..” the man paused considering, “..I guess I have been ok sir, was really looking forward to that new hyper realistic holo-game Duty Calls To War 9! The holo-graphics are hyper realistic!..” he said.

Wendell eventually made his way to the transporter room. He had with him his standard away team equipment. That is to say, he took along his science tricorder and the sleek type one “cricket” hand phaser. He preferred the cricket as it was easily concealable. He nodded at the two already in the transporter room.

Within a few moments the transporter room doors whooshed open again and T’Shura stepped through with a science team away kit over her shoulder, her science tricorder rested on her hip in its sleeve. She nodded to Vaughn and the others in the room as she took her way on the transporter pad.

A few moments later the doors opened for Tera. She carried a tricorder, a concealed Type 1 phaser, and an old school notebook. People always gave her a strange look for that one but she found her own short hand very efficient.

Stepping onto the transporter pad she nodded to the others and eyed the transporter operator for a few seconds. Hadn’t she gotten a report about him earlier?

Jozan appeared next, carrying his tricorder and a small kit on his shoulder which contained tools and scanners to help with any repairs should they be needed.

“Exciting huh?” he asked with a slight smile as he stepped onto the padd.

Jade was the next to arrive. She carried a medical kit on her shoulder. the case was battered and scratched, it was clear it and Jade had been through a fair amount. she also had a tri-corder and type 1 phaser. She nodded to the other officers then looked at NE Willickers “Keep a lock on us while we’re down there. Do not mess up and pay attention.” she said simply but sternly.

“I’m starting an informal evaluation of the colony,” Wendell stated. “It begins with a list of items that they probably need. Currently I have down an upgrade to the communications array, including perhaps some more subspace comm buoys en route. So, that way, it won’t take four years for them to send a report back to Starfleet Command. At the very least, a regular patrol ought to be assigned to the system. Especially considering its proximity to unknown space.”

“If they had any sizable population, I’d also recommend a weather net.”

Returning to his console Willickers said, “..All ready?” he asked. “..Your beam down site is the main lobby of the Vuzavue main space port..” he said.

Once the group gave the go ahead he engaged the transporter beam. As they all were whisked away they soon emerged again into reality on the small landing port of the Vuzavue colony. It seems the beam down site had gotten mis-targeted due to the storm as they were in the center of the landing pad outside, and were soon drenched from head to toe by the torrent of rain and bits of hail. The run to the lobby nearby was almost 100 yards before they would dash through the lobby doors, to a pair of confused looking men. One cardassian the other human, “..What did your transporter chief beam you down outside??..” the man asked wearing a blue civilan pair of pants and bright green t-shirt. “..It’s one of the worst storms we’ve had in almost three years here, you are lucky the lightening didnt strike any of you!” he said.

Jade ran in to the lobby “Oh Trust me. If he gets me back, he won’t be a transporter chief any more” she said annoyance clear in her voice.

“My vote goes to a weather net.”T’Shura said as she ran a hand over her head to try to swipe the water out of her hair. Good thing her equipment was covered and buttoned up tight or it would have gotten soaked. Mind you most Starfleet away team equipment was durable.

Tera shook her head and flicked her hair back. She wanted to have a look at those transporter logs when she got back tot he Memorial.

“Nothing like a little rain to let you know you’re planet side.” she said good naturedly.

Tera, CNS

“Sorry for the not so great entrance” Jade said respectfully “I’m Commander Jade Jones the XO of the Memorial.” she said introducing herself. “This is Lieutenant T’Shura. Lieutenant Tera, Ensign Snart, Lieutenant Commander Vaughn and Ensign Solar.” she said introducing each member of her away team.
