IC: Lieutenant Commander Vaughn’s console lit up with sensor readings from the USS Resolution - the ship was hidden behind a moon with strong electromagnetic radiation from the planet interacting with metals in the moon’s core. What seemed to be sensor errors extended well beyond the moon, however - energy signatures kept appearing at the edge of their short-range sensors, though nothing was registering visually.

An Andorian Captain appeared on the viewscreen with his bridge crew also in view. “Hello, USS Memorial, this is Captain Ikos of the Resolution. We’ve been suffering a series of malfunctions in our communications system, whatever it is may also be affecting our sensors,” he said. “My engineer’s on it, but, the sensor glitches - they’ve been persistent, even when our comm system gets back up online for brief periods. I do not mean to beCSOalspicious, but, this is a highly sensitive observation mission and losing contact with the away team for more than a day is threatening us to end the project. My Chief Engineer assures me the system problems should be fixed within the next day, but I would like to request the USS Memorial’s presence in the system until we’re back up and running. Something isn’t sitting right with me,” the Captain said. The image suddenly went hazy and cut out for a moment, though, the interruption only lasted for a second. The Captain sighed in annoyance and leaned forward in his chair.

It was then that the comm panel beeped with another urgent alert. The USS Memorial was receiving a distress signal from the SS Anne, one of the merchant ships registered to be travelling in the sector.

GM Roadrunner

“We’re getting a distress call, Captain.” Jasper said, bringing up on his station. “SS Anne. Merchant ship.”

LtJg Jasper Rhodes

“Don’t we have another ship that can respond to the Anne?” Wendell innocently asked. “The Resolution is on a time critical mission.”

CSO

JT sat silently at his station and had courses plotted to both locations so the ship was ready to go wherever the CO ordered.

Ltjg Robinson

Ion storms in the Sector G27 gave Robinson complicated courses to either location. The Resolution was closer, a high warp could have the ship there in as little as three hours. The nearby storms were closing in, however, if one swept through the system it could make leaving dangerous. The route to the SS Anne was more hazardous - there were two separate storms and a black hole between it and the location of the SS Anne’s distress signal. Travel would be more than eight hours with a relatively safe speed of warp 7 to navigate through the area. Faster speeds to take full advantage of the black hole and other gravity wells was potentially dangerous, but, could cut the time to five hours. The Resolution and Anne were father apart than any journey to one of them - from of the ships to another would take twelve hours at high warp.

GM Roadrunner

The distress signal from the SS Anne came to an abrupt end, indicating either a sharp increase in interference or the comm system sending the distress signal was offline.

“Captian Ikos Dont worry Help will be on the way shortly” Tralla responded her head perking up though the signs of her headache were still there “Jade I want you to take LT Robenson an Engineering officer and a Science officer in the Flying angel and go help the USS Resolution while the rest of us will take the Memorial and see what is going on with the SS Anne” Tralla ordered looking at her first officer with a soft smile

Tralla

“A shuttle. Of course,” Wendell said as if he were talking to himself. “I don’t expect to see any combat with the Resoultion’s problem.”

CSO

“The flying angle is not just a shuttle. She’s state of the art designed by the captain. So don’t knock her yet” Jade said as she turned and headed for the turbo lift. “Good luck” she said turning to Tralla before the doors closed.

Cmdr Jones (XO)

OOC Added one more crewman suggested to take to the USS Resolution

“Captain..” JT spoke up, Ive plotted courses for both ships. ” the path to the Res is clear thos gettign back may be trick due to some weather moving in but I’m detecting multiple storms and a black hole along the path to the SS Anne that’s going to take some finesse to get through, might want to keep your best helms…”he trailed off as an alert came through

“Captain, We’ve lost the signal of the Anne, It was coming through but now there’s nothing.”

Robinson

With the comm signal back, albeit disabled, Captain Ikos was able to send a short reply before the comm signal from the Resolution cut out again - “Understood! Thank you, Captain. We hope to welcome you soo-“

While the black hole made navigation to the Resolution difficult, so too did the ion storm near the the Resolution’s location, the Tyche IV. Having excellent piloting on the Memorial could make the trip to the Anne safer navigating around the black holes, or the ship could push its luck and attempt to increase speed instead. Excellent piloting the Flying Angel runabout could save hours off of the trip to the Resolution.

Bump

KG

OCC Hey Nate who all are you taking with you on this trip?

“Its ok Lieutenant We have other pilots who are just as qualified!” she said giving him a playful wink as Jade got up and moved to the turbolift

KG

“Aye Cap’n” JT replied standing up and making his way to the turbolift to go to the Flying Angel.

JT

“I’m scanning ahead to the Resolution, Captain,” Wendell reported. “I want to get a standard pre-approach reading. I assume that the Flying Angel has its own adequate sensors.”

CSO

Sivith was looking at the engineering readouts and turned to speak. “Captain. The engines are running smooth at this time.”
