“Well kids, looks like we’ve got about 14 and a half hours to kill before we reach the Rez. Thats IF we go through the ion storm ahead. I can handle it, but if you all would rather go around it will add an hour to the trip. ” JT stated to those behind him, though ultimately it was up to BJ to make the call as mission leader.

Danora set to work on the problem. With any luck, the bracket would be easy to remove. Unbending it and replacing it was the issue. If she couldn’t unbend it herself, she would have to ask for help from one of the guys. Even she had limits to her strength. She was overly cautious in making sure that as she removed the bracket, making sure the manifold remained propped up using whatever was necessary.

((your choice if bracket is straightened and I can get it back in… figuring at least a 2 to 3 hour job))

The bracket straightening worked, though getting it back in and the system back online while the shuttle at warp took some extra time and required a slow recalibration effort. Most of it would be done by the time they got there, but the system would still need a quick diagnostic after it dropped out of warp.

OOC: Inserting a little timeskip here, but with a break in between for any conversation that happens before the later timeframe! I am very sorry for my AWOL, just had a bit of a rough patch with work but I’m back now and it shouldn’t happen again.

IC: =^=Estimated time to arrival: 47 minutes,=^= the computer later updated them some time later. The Flying Angel had kept up a quick pace, but, by now the runabout was piloting through low grade ion storms. Instead of interference through some of their long-range sensors, from within the storm almost all sensor readings were scrambled - all long-range, certainly, and their short-range scanners, subspace radio transceivers, and targeting system were only partially operable.

The storm also made for a bumpy ride, though the ship only had one rougher patch of the storm to get through before there was a clearing to the Tyche system. An alert popped up a main panel, however, warning of a distress signal from dead ahead of them. It was too scrambled to make out any video or audio, but, the signal was clearly from the Resolution.

JT saw the alert and called out the BJ “Commander, receiving a distress signal. Its unintelligible but it is the Resolution”

JT

BJ knew that if the signal was that bad they needed to make good time. “Head to the Resolution at maximum speed. Something is clearly wrong over there.” He then turned to the rest of the shuttle crew. “Okay, we don’t know what we’re gong to face. We’re going in the traditional diamond formation. I’ll take lead with security lead taking point.”

“Aye Sir” JT replied as he plotted the final leg of their trip and took some pre arrival scans.

It was then that the Flying Angel had its wing clipped, at least momentarily. The runabout lurched to the side as a gravimetric distortion wave rippled through the ship, causing intense turbulence and very nearly collapsing the warp field. While the source couldn’t be identified, the runabout was still on course to reach the system soon!

JT held on as the ship rocked “Well… that was fun. Commander any idea what the hell that was?”

BJ read the reading from the sensors. He didn’t like what he was seeing. “Well that was a gravimetric disturbance. Let’s not try that again. I liked my lunch.”

A slight crash as her tool box toppled, Danora cried out half in surprise and half laughter. “HEY! Thought you were gonna take care of the flying part.” She gathered her tools up and rechecked the diagnostic to be sure it was still running.

As they approached, though, the Resolution could not be found on its sensor systems, though they were still receiving a transmission. It was possible the ship was simply out of view due to its position around the moon, or the ship may no longer be in orbit of that moon and the sensor system just hadn’t identified its new location yet.

OOC: Whoops, we posted at the same time! Just merging the posts here

GM Roadrunner

BJ didn’t like that part of the ride. He kept his eyes on the sensors. He was not confident when he didn’t see the ship on the monitors. “Where’d it go?”

Janzen

“Should be right here. ” =/\= Computer scan for the Resolutions current location=/\=
