In quick succession the phase pistols whined and their lancing pulse shots struck the MacArm soldiers. With thuds the stunned soldiers dropped to the ground. The badly beaten up ESD officer blinked looking about raggedly, then it seems his injuries took the fight out of him and he slumped to the ground passing out.

Like so much that is ‘fun’ or, in this case, dramatic excitement, it seemed to be over almost before it began. As the MacArm soldiers fell she paused, now targetless, and watched the other soldier slump. “Doctor!” she called out as El herself ran from around the dumpster, phase pistol in hand just in case, and toward the fallen soldier. Her eyes scanned the MacArm soldiers. She was torn between attending the man beaten up whom she admired for taking that beating, and making sure that the others were truly out. And disarmed.

Rachel followed Serinde to the injured soldier, she gave the others a quick visual examination but allowed the others to see to their weapons. She grabbed her scanner and gave the Officer a scan, crouching next to the man.

When the landing party go there they could indeed confirm the ESD officer was male, and was still alive, though showed a lot of internal injuries. He needed immediate medical aide ideally on the ship’s sickbay or some other proper medical facility. While he had the similar traits of other locals to this planet being more hearty and such compared to humans that only would keep him alive for so long from the battering he had taken.

Looking back to make sure the doctor was on her way El moved to disarm the MacArm soldiers just in case the stun didn’t ‘take’ quite as effectively as she would like.

Then, with her other hand she flipped out her scanner. What was happening in the comms circles and where was the ‘enemy’ now? She was curiously aware of her mentally taking sides but dismissed it.
- El, Eng

Checking in on comms didn’t reveal any notice of their activities yet past or present. So far they were lucky but how long would their luck last?

Isaac was keeping overwatch when he felt someone pull on his pants leg. He looked down and saw two little girls that look in bad shape malnourished due to the fact he can see there bones poking from there body’s. He first pulls his water bottle and showed them it was water. The oldest girl took it and made sure her sister had enough then she finished it. He then pulled some Field rations and gave them something to eat. He looked at the two and he knows that look they were alone he pulled his Com =^= Isaac to team over watch is good I am coming out plus 2 doc can you help them. It is two little girls is bad shape I have them my water and some of my rations =^=

Lt. Isaac Black (AC)

OOC: As I outlined in email this is ok but you cant keep them by the sim’s end.

The two children the oldest in her early teens, and the other about 8 years old were obviously malnourished and dirty but otherwise ok. A few scraps and bruises were evident and they looked thin and gaunt. They didn’t say much to Black as they and he would eventually return to the computer shop with the rest of the landing party eventually, plus their saved officer. Again said officer needed urgent medical care, more than they could provide on planet or without the aide of a hospital. Further a medical scan of the two girls showed they had been exposed to high doses of radiation and were in the early stages of radiation sickness. Without advanced treatment they would eventually pass away like the male officer.

After giving the man the short and disheartening scan she moved on to scan the two children. She didn’t change her firm expression “This man needs immediate medical attention, He’ll need a hospital or my own medical bed, there is nothing I can do for him here” She didn’t elaborate further but stood up “The girls will also need some attention” She didn’t say exactly how dire but her expression firmed showing their need”

Dr. Grey - CMO

El felt exhilarated by this, though nervous all the same. She felt exposed out here. While there was nothing imminent on the comms she would rather make this a quick operation and get out of there. “Can he travel?” El asked the doctor, though looked to the Captain. A quick beam out from here would work well enough, the man and the doctor and the rest could follow at some time. What was Black doing picking up strays? Didn’t they have enough on their plate with the daughter back a the shop, this man and now others? She frowned as she did one more visual sweep around her at the fallen troops and then focused on getting out. “I’ll help carry him,” she offered.

Black was not happy about the condition and the two kids were in. He knows that look of innocence lost and he was the same way when he was a kids. His family killed in a failed colony him alone on a ships for months intill he was save by traders spent years on the streets. Got to earth joined the army a week before graduation hurt his leg I was transferred to Starfleet.

He lowered his head and was deep in thought. The 2 girls saw this and took a set next to him soon they were asleep Leaning on him.

Ari walked with the rest back to the computer shop. A few moments later, settled and watching Black with the kids, she came over to the Doc. “I think we need to get back to the ship. These folks need help and we need to figure out what the XO and the others have found out.” She didn’t like the idea of bringing the civilians back to the ship, but there was no other way. She needed the information from the soldier. And as for the kids and the woman, maybe the three of them could find there way once treated and brought back here.

Inhaling and exhaling a deep breath, Ari looked around. Moving to a corner to have a moment of privacy, she keyed the comm to the XO and hoped they were in a position to move back to the ship as well. Everyone needed food and sleep and they had to get as much information between them all as possible.

Black was keeping an eye out and keeping the girls clam as possible. He looked at the CO and mouth to her “ we need to go back to the ship and regroup” and also mouth “ I will really like to save these girls“ he looked back down to them.

On their return to the shop, El went back over to Roger. “Find anything more?” she asked as she sat on the improvised seat. As she did so she realized that she had blood on her hands from helping the doctor with the man. For some moments she just stared at it before trying to rub it off on her cloak. There were now more locals there with them than they were. Were they bringing them all up two by two like some kind of strange Ark story?
- El, Eng

“No, I’m just finishing up the report the Captain asked for. What have I missed?” Lt. Sanks responded to El. “Wait, is that your blood? Are you hurt?” The young linguist was worried and concerned that the blood was her blood.

“The last encounter,” El said quietly, nodding to the girl, was much more exciting. This was quick but .. I don’t know Roger. This place seems so messed up. Like it went South so fast.” Not unlike their situation where they were stuck in effectively a stellar eddy where they might not get out of even with years of travel. It wasn’t the future El had thought of for herself. She had been working at rubbing her palm on her pantleg. “What?” She glanced at her palm. “No.” Her tone had a touch of annoyance. “Picked it up helping carry that fellow over.” She gestured toward the soldier the doctor was working on then examined her palm. The stuff stuck worse than the lubricants she used in the machine shop back on the ship. Pulling out her small water bottle from the satchel she poured some on her hand. “Should have just beamed up out there.”
El, Eng

[O] Jonathan here, go ahead. [O]

Cmdr. McKnight - XO (crosspost)

Relieved that McKnight answered, it was obvious in her voice despite trying to hide it. [O]We have wounded assets and need to get back to the ship. I think you all should join us as soon as possible. We need to see what we’ve figured out, speak to the soldier we have, and try and figure our next step.[O] She didn’t like this many of the crew, Command Staff included, to be away from the ship. And finding out what everyone had discovered in the last few hours might give them a more definitive direction than just wandering about the planet.

Rachel started preparing the injured man for moving, she was quietly humming what sounded like a jaunty tune more befitting a night of drinking at a pub than assisting the gravely injured, anyone that caught a look at her face would see her contentment. It had been too long since she had been able to do some proper field medicine.

Dr. Grey - CMO

“Well, at least it isn’t your blood.” Roger responded to El. He felt like she needed a hug of friendly comfort, but this wasn’t the time for that. “You going to be ok? It sounds like what happened up there was dangerous. I’m glad you made it back safe.” He stated. “I know you don’t always like to express your feelings, but if you need to, anytime you need to, my ear is open to listen. I mean, I know you can always talk to the counselor, but I’m just letting you know I’m available as well.” Roger told her, trying to help her cope with what she just experienced the best he could.
