Team 1(thread here: https://www.star-fleet.com/core/stf1/sojourner/posts/189341/ )
Cmdr Grace (Lead/Sci)
Dr Grey (Med)
Ens Serrinde (Eng)
Lt Black (Sec)
NE Pilot

Team 2
Capt Renault (Lead)
Lt Locke (Sci)
Lt Kelleher (Eng)
Ens Sanks (Sec)
Laursen (Pilot)

OOC: To clarify I think this should be team 1 and team 2, everyone is to be going to the SAME planet atm to mark different areas for mining/colonizing etc and getting survey stuff, yes eventually you guys will be going to another planet in the system to check stuff out but that would um.....overly derail and kebosh my whole sim plan if done that way :P I think i missed this fact when the teams got listed in the bridge post so my bad!
OOC: Yikes .. okay .. thanks for the fix up!

Running through the preflight checks Laursen soon got back a green light on all systems in pod 1, over by pod 2, NE Bikey gave a thumbs up showing his own return responses were green and ready to go.

Marceau arrived quickly with his own go bag, pausing momentarily outside the shuttle. The idea of the rest of the landing team soon to be showing up kept him moving toward the pod. He climbed in and sat in the seat behind Helena’s with a little nervous sigh. Tucking his bag under the seat, he strapped himself in and gripped the nearest thing to him. “Everything is ready to go, Laursen?” He asked, being formal about it because it was official business.

~ Captain Renault

Helena turned in her seat, “Yes Sir. We can launch as soon as everyone is in board. NE Bikey is showing green for Pod 2 as well.” She gave him a reassuring nod. She knew he hated flying but they had been through enough to trust each other.

Laursen, pilot

A large form entered the pod through the door just then, paused, and looked around. Logan wasn’t a small guy and the pods weren’t big places, especially when he carried a belt of equipment and a small kit of extra bits and pieces, and a small woven basket of some kind. “Honey, I’m home,” he quipped before noting the other occupants. “Captain,” he nodded and then looked at the Pilot. “Helena! I feel like I haven’t seen you for a week. I’m glad it’s you taking us down.”

Sitting in one of the seats, Logan found he had trouble resting the woven basket on his lap due to the belt and his bulk. “Hey Captain, mind holding this for me?” he leaned forward and placed the basket in Marc’s lap before any response had time to come back, then Logan was back in his seat, belting in and whistling an old tune. It happened to be one that Marc had heard Logan whistling outside his quarters a few weeks earlier.

Kelleher, CE

Helena glanced over her shoulder and smirked, “It has been a week. Where you been hiding?” She grinned, “Where else would I be? I appreciate the vote of confidence though.” She saw the basket then heard the tune and put 1 and 1 together. Did Logan have his eye on Locke? Interesting. She smirked at Marceau, “Shades of Kenneth, I swear.” Turning back to the console, she tried not to be impatient as they waited for the rest of the team to show up.

Laursen, pilot

Marceau handed the basket back almost instantly. “Non! No.” He needed his hands free, so he could cling on for dear life. “Carry your own date basket, Logan.” He commented, catching what Helena was telling him with ‘Shades of Kenneth’.

Naomi pushed past her dread and hesitation. During her experience on the Sojourner, she knew dwelling on the what-ifs only built up her anxiety. Instead, she began to board the shuttle and move into her seat. After she fastened herself in, her attention turned over to her equipment to ensure everything was secure. She hadn’t forgotten anything this time, but her over caution had included some extra things.

Upon hearing Kelleher joke, a soft chuckle escaped Naomi’s throat. Her lips formed a smile at the light heart banter that ensured. Nothing calmed her nerves better than playfulness.

NE Bikey called over from Pod 2, “..So where’s everyone thats going with me eh? Report assignment I got says I’m to be getting Commander Grace, Lieutenant Grey and Black, and Ensign Serrinde! So far none of these folks showed up here yet to check in and get rigged up! My launch window is in 5 minutes by the flight plan..” he said. “..Or are we not doing those anymore?” he queried mostly to himself with a shrug.

GM CockRoach

Renault answered the call from the second pod himself. “We are still using flight plans, Ensign Bikey.” He shook his head, “They will be there shortly.”

~ Capt Renault

Ensign Sanks lightly chuckled to himself at the back of the shuttle at the captain’s response. He slid into the shuttle mostly unnoticed, after making sure he had everything he needed.
Ensign Sanks, Security

El had been back in her machine shop after the initial ‘ooohs and awwwws’ as they entered this new system. Before they had been shooed back to work for status checks on engines that had been running at sustainable warp speed for nearly a month, it was time for most engineers to ensure that these Cochranes had come through in not just good order, but best order. But that would be for the others; El was still in partial exile in the machine shop. Perhaps it was a stubborn part of her coming out or simply a contentment in where she was (or so she tried to tell herself that) that she hadn’t completed the requisite security course and what remedial tests for the Sojourner operation. Did she look at the material? Yes. Could she pass the exam? In her sleep. Did she traverse the ship - all but the bridge - to learn by experience what she had studied? Yes.

And so it came as a surprise when she was called to be a part of the away team, seeing that on the single computer bank on the bulkhead just inside and to the right of the door to the machine shop. She had preferred standing at the console and so had not yet attached the chair to it. Strangely, it had not been installed but was there with the rest of the inventory. It was now sitting, boxed, next to the console. It had beeped, indicating a message was waiting for her. She presumed, albeit incorrectly, that it was a maintenance issue as she had not yet been relieved of the service sup position. Instead it was a call for an away team.

At first El glanced at it thinking it must be for someone else, but she was wrong. It was lacking in much detail, however. That was all it said and to report to the shuttle bay. She supposed that she would find out what she needed then. Grabbing together a basic engineering kit in a shoulder pack, El worked her way down to the shuttle bay. When she arrived she found that there were people milling about and getting ready. One shuttle looked to have most people around it. The other - Bikey was it? - was there. Was he the pilot? El recognized the face from the galley but didn’t know his name. “Where are we going?” she asked. “I didn’t see anything down on what I was supposed to do and what it would be like.” The Chief was there but he was pretty much stuffing himself into the other pod and too late to ask.Who else was she going down with? Did she know them? Outside of engineering and the helmswoman Helena she didn’t really know many. She knew the support staff more, she had to admit, and some of the others who had come from the Bonaventure. They, however, were scattered about this 7 decked ship.

“Am I in this shuttle then?” she asked Bikey.
El, Eng

When El asked her question, Naomi’s eyes popped up. Noticing the woman’s hesitation, she considered answering, but stopped herself since the question wasn’t directed at her.
