NE Wallace rang the chime of the Chief Armory Officer’s office. He’d been summoned by the Lieutenant earlier today, but had rescheduled since he was actively on watch at the time.

Kenzo sat in his office, cleaning a Plasma pistol when the chime rang. “Come!” He called out, placing the pistol down on his desk.

“You called for me, sir?” NE Wallace asked.

“I did Ensign.” Kenzo responded curtly, grabbing a bundle of papers off his desk and just about throwing them at Wallace. “We have sign in and sign out procedures for a reason, Ensign!” He shouted, as Wallace failed to catch the papers and knelt down to pick them up.

“I’m not sure I follow, sir. I have signed in and out all weapons I’ve used.”

“Have you?” Kenzo asked, standing up. Walking around his desk, he yanked the papers out of Wallace’s hands. Rifling through them, he pulled one to the front, before pointing to the sign in columns labeled ‘weapon returned’ and ‘time returned’. “Weapon returned is marked yes, however time is not filled out.”

Wallace raised an eyebrow at Kenzo, “I’m sorry sir? I understand it’s important if all weapons aren’t accounted for or a weapon is reported missing, however, as you can see, that weapon hasn’t left the locker since I returned it.”

“It’s also important to track whether weapons have been returned!” Kenzo shouted, grabbing the pistol off his desk. “If I didn’t sign the weapon back in we’d never know who had it!” He shouted at Wallace, throwing the pistol at the wall in a fit of anger.

The pistol hit the wall with a mighty SMACK, falling to the floor with a clatter, broken into several pieces. NE Wallace stared at him with wide eyes, “Uh…yes sir. I’ll make sure I do better next time. May I go now?”

Kenzo rolled his eyes and waved NE Wallace out of the room.

As soon as he left the room, NE Wallace hightailed it to the bridge to speak to Captain Renault.

Captain Renault dislikes bridge shifts. They were long and boring and all he was supposed to do was sit there. He could do paperwork on a PaDD but that was about it. It was a huge change from Medical. When NE Wallace arrived on the bridge, out of breath and looking quite frightened really, Marceau looked at him, “Did something happen?”

“Lieu-” Wallace stopped and huffed a bit. “Lieutenant Kurata, he threw a Plasma pistol at me, sir.” Wallace said between breaths. “I made a minor mistake and he freaked out while berating me for it. I’m surprised the pistol didn’t go off.”

NE Wallace

Marceau looked quite concerned and handed the bridge off to Commander Grace before heading down to the armoury. Stepping in through the doors, he stopped at Kurata’s desk. “Lieutenant, I’ve received a troubling complaint about you… I would like an explanation.”

~ Capt Renault

Kenzo was actively working on some sort of report when Marceau walked in. Off to his right, against a wall, was the 5 broken pieces of a plasma pistol, and without looking up from report, he spoke. “If it’s about the weekly duty report being late, I’ll hav…” Only at this point did the word ‘complaint’ register in his brain, and he stop working on the report and look up at Marceau. “I unfortunately cannot make everyone like me, Captain. Otherwise there’d be no order on the ship.”

At that comment Marceau raised a brow but decided to ignore it for the moment. “I am sure you know *which complaint I speak of?” His tone was stern. “Ensign Wallace reported a fit of rage… The evidence of which is still on the floor over there.”

~ Capt Renault

“I have no idea what you are talking about. That weapon was destroyed in combat. In fact.” Kenzo signed the report he had just been working on, “I have that report right here.” He held the–false–report up to Marceau.

Marceau gave Kurata a hard look. “Lieutenant Kurata, if you would knowingly falsify a report, the choice would be taken out of my hands. You would be court martialed.”

~ Capt Renault

Kenzo put the report down, with a sigh. “Fine. I threw the pistol at him. In my defense, he didn’t sign it in correctly.” He held up the sign in sheets, pointing to where the time was not filled in, otherwise, however, the sheet was otherwise filled out properly.
