Refinement would take a bit but as he spoke to another nurse nearby he said, “..Well this sample confirms whatever we’re dealing with is definitely not in our database. Run a check again through the Vulcan database, its still limited cause ya know they’re stingy like that. But maybe something will crop up now that we got a larger sample.” he said.
NC Sally nodded, “..Aye sir..” she said. The other nurse got back for refining but a moment later Sally spoke up again. “..Sir! We got a match!” She declared.
Looking surprised the NE came over, “..Really? Wow guess a bigger sample did help out. Ok what we got?” he said.
Tapping the screen an image of a six legged leathery insectoid like creature came up on the screen. “..It matches a predatory insect from the Kaferia system. Its beyond current known Earth colonies, and in between Vulcan and Earth space. Not really claimed. Also known as Tau Ceti. The creature is called Vek’lee…Ve’klee? I’m not sure if i’m pronouncing this right sorry..” She said.
”..Go on Sally..” he replied.
Nodding she continued, “..Its born from a small egg, and then seeks out prey the more protein and organic residue that it consumes translates to a faster growth rate. From what the Vulcans say the more intelligent the prey it consumes the faster and stronger it gets. Eventually it seeks to lay eggs in a selected prey upon full maturation before it dies after 5-6 days by our time once it lays its eggs. Life expectancy until then can range from 2 weeks to 5 months.” she said.
”..Damn, NE tech then must have given it quite the boost in growth..” the NE said frowning. Turning he looked at the computer analysis. “..Well looks like my refinement update got finished processing. Let’s see if our internal scanners can tell us more..” he said, immediately the screen blinked showing Deck A’s bridge highlighted. “..Oh shit its up on the bridge!” he said.
”..We got to warn them!” Sally declared.

NE Guy nodded, =/\= NE Guy here, bridge be on the alert for a very dangerous alien creature coming up there! It’s already killed one med tech in the decomm chamber, though some of the team should be on there way up soon! =/\= he said.

The sickbay doors slid open and an out of breath Ensign Fletcher came running in, his hair a mess and his face slightly red. “I’m sorry it’s taken me so long to get here…” he panted. “It’s been kinda difficult to get here.” He stopped a moment and lent against one of the sides, trying desperately to catch his breath. “Now… how can I help?”
