The large shuttle made its gradual approach, firing retro thrusters to slow its approach and guide it in to where it might dock to the exterior of the Bonaventure. That took about as long as it would take for the other two shuttle pods to not just dock but disembark.

When the boarding party of the three regions of the Sphere emerged, they exhibited a variety of emotions from outright wonder to stunned incredulity to cautious concern. Meeting the Captain and her entourage, for a moment none spoke.

A moment later a bulkhead door opened and the away team emerged from the larger transport looking rather more the worse for wear.

Alan turned to the travelers. “Na’shaya tor wuh SS Bonaventure.” (Welcome to the SS Bonaventure.)

Naro Kis summed it up for the rest when he at last returned his gaze to Alan. “I have not seen its equal. How old is it?” One thin fingered hand touched a bulkhead wall. “Little is there that is counted not in years but in generations.” Others in all three of the groups nodded in agreement.
- Naro Kis

“Ish-veh tor ten do wuh generation os. Etek nam-tor wuh wuh’rak tor ha-tor la’” (It is less than a generation old. We are the first to live here.)

“But how?” blurted out Tosc in his blue robe, the representative for Second City. “Nothing is that new?”Then an idea formed. “Did you find it? Are there more? Sometimes things are found from the Elder days before the Great Eye.”
- Tosc

“Etek torvau nash shi. Etwel ha-kel has resources tor torvau uzh living ret na’ etek.” (We built this place. Our home has resources to build new living spaces for us.)

-Lt(j.g.) Alan Dysart, Linguist

“New. A word we do not hear often anymore,” commented Naro Kis. He rallied himself and straightened. “Where do we go to talk?” he inquired. The others were milling about, their initial surprise and awe now mixed with that of uncertainty and, as they looked at each other, feeling a bit more solidarity with one another with them all being in a ‘strange land’.

“Please follow me.” Baumann responded and began leading the way. He looked at Lieutenant Grey and said “Is decontamination necessary before we continue to the Situation Room, Doctor?”

Baumann, XO

Rachel looked at the German and smiled “Aye indeed, for all parties including our own. They don’t seem to have access to any advanced medical treatments, a single decon treatment per group, nothing complex.” She rubbed her neck “I’m a little concerned about unchecked pathogens getting in.

((Gonna skip quick over decom but if there are necessary reactions, feel free to post between here and mine…M))

The Captain stepped in as the awe of the word new rustled the the group. She nodded in agreement to the decom procedure and remained silent as they went about it with the Doc’s usual efficiency.

Once finished, Ari smiled. “Now, how about some refreshments and let’s see if there’s something we can do to help you all.” The emphasis of helping all of them was stressed just enough to leave no one thinking they were going to get special treatment. In the conference room there was a simple array of cheeses and fruits with juice and water. Unsure about their dietary usuals, the Captain had moved to the side of caution. “Please feel free to come what you desire and we’ll begin once everyone is settled. And don’t worry,” she nodded, ” there’s plenty. We won’t run out, I assure you.”

The woman was deliberately avoiding Baumann because she was unsure her emotions at this second wouldn’t slip thru.

Baumann walked in and nodded at the Captain, and then stood back and allowed the dignitaries to file in and partake. Moving closer to the Captain, he said in low tones “Ma’am, I suggest we bring in more food and drink. Most of the individuals here are in a state of low-level hunger.” and he then briefed her on who was who within the delegates from the sphere.

Filing in the six still were looking at the ship as something almost alive. With what might be the universal response when presented with a table of foods they gravitated there. Naro Kis hung back as his second scanned the foods with his eyes. Everyone seemed to be waiting for someone to try something. Dal was the first taking up in one hand a piece of cheese and in the other a slice of a fruit. He sampled the fruit, making a face at the flavor. “It has strength,” he said, trying the cheese. “Solid,” was his comment. That began a burst of activity as the others took up foods. Naro Kis’ second brought him some.

Barring eating standing the group eventually took seats, the table foods sufficiently decimated. Quiet conversation happened in the pairs with glances often at the Bonnie crew. With the platter only half consumed, Naro Kis addressed the room. “Your vessel is very impressive,” he began. “But far too small to take us all. Are we yet doomed?”
- Naro

Rachel looked around the group “Well they certainly have a positive attitude about life” She said quietly to her colleges as she watched them eat. Despite wanting to go to her sickbay more and more now wasn’t the time to leave, There might still be use for her there.

Dr. Grey - CMO

With a slight smile Alan realised these people really knew nothing beyond the sphere. “Ri wi katravahsu. Tra’ tor weht tor etwel ha-kel do du ma ni irak gla-tor.” (Not yet friends. There is more to our home than you have so far seen.) He said, hoping to assuage fears of being doomed from the start.
