The Foremost Fleet Report - June 2021

USS Ark Angel

Commanding Officer: No report submitted

Executive Officer: No report submitted

Gamemaster: No report submitted

FComm’s Comments: CO excused once more from reports due to RL.
XO is LOA till 12th.
GM is late returning from LOA.

Have left messages for all to put in reports upon return so the ENTIRE ship isn’t missing from the month.

No nominations for Fleet awards

USS Asimov

Commanding Officer: Sam Pennington

How is your ship looking overall? The Asimov looks really good. We continue to post more every month, having built up to 239 IC posts in June. A couple people are on LOA, and we’ve had some brushes with AWOL, but importantly I think we have the roster in a good place for clear and open communication so we can resolve problems easily and quickly. We have a new sim starting run by a GM who is very familiar with the ship, which is very exciting.

What was your favorite moment/post on the ship this month (include a link if possible!)? https://www.star-fleet.com/core/stf1/asimov/posts/142608/ This prologue to the new sim immediately sucked me into the plot and I can’t wait to see what’s in store.

Name one thing you want to improve on the ship for next month.I’d like to make sure our JOs are as busy as anyone else.

Executive Officer: No report submitted

Gamemaster: No report submitted

FComm’s Comments: XO on LOA till 19th.
No report from GM.

Being new, not sure GM has anything to report. I’ve left message for XO to please leave a report upon return. Better late than not at all.

New GM, new Sim upcoming, and a well rounded ship. No major deficiencies and bringing up posting counts and participation for new Sim will be focus this month.

SS Bonaventure

Commanding Officer: Melissa Aragon

How is your ship looking overall? Ship is doing well. Sim is moving along. We are about to move back to the ship to see what news both teams have found out.

What was your favorite moment/post on the ship this month (include a link if possible!)? I think everyone posting and having fun is all that matters right now. Everyone’s participation in the sim is a great thing.

Name one thing you want to improve on the ship for next month.Pick up posting counts and move sim along a bit more.

Executive Officer: No report submitted

Gamemaster: No report submitted

FComm’s Comments: XO is Awol and GM is on LOA.
Left messages for both to put in reports once back.

Bonnie is working on the Sim and moving it significantly more forward this month is the plan. Also looking to catch the AWOLs a bit better this month.

USS Leviathan

Commanding Officer: Sharon Miller

How is your ship looking overall? Captain’s Log - June

They say that to gaze too long into the abyss draws its own gaze back to you. But where then should one direct their attention when the darkness reveals no more than their own mirror image? I have grown accustomed, over the past year, to witnessing these anomalous abominations tear my ship apart. But never before now have I encountered one cast so precisely from my own, imperfect, mould. Even my crew, who have come to know me as well as any soul could bear, were tricked by this monstrosity for a time. But they are fearless and they are sharp, the company of the Leviathan, and eventually the mirror was cracked to bring forth the true beast within.

Once the dust, or in this case repulsive goo, has settled then an opportunity shall be seized for investigation. How was this creature able to board our vessel undetected? Of all the individuals it could have mimicked, why was its image my own? And most critical of all, to what end was this devilish deception crafted? A mere accident borne from an overworked containment crew on the starbase? Or is there a more mysterious, and nefarious, hand currently at play?

Either way, the time for our investigations runs short as, while I add the final words to this log, a small readout to my left informs me that we have arrived at the Alini system and the location of the spatial anomaly that has already swallowed two of our brethren ARU ships.

Captain Cobb

June saw a slight improvement in posting to a total of 381, bolstered mainly by the arrival of some new players. Firstly, we were delighted to welcome back Miriam W, with a new (to the Leviathan) character and one who has already proven to be a fascinating read. Secondly, our vacant Abell Consultant role was filled by STF veteran Harley Smiley. And thirdly, we welcomed yet another refugee from the former haunted Viking, Stephen MacDonald. Added to last months new arrivals, Hjortur and Sam, who are still making an impact across the board, it’s been a great shot of adrenaline for the Levi and her crew.

In terms of storylines, our main anomaly encounter has begun to gather some steam, with a small anomalous distraction on the bridge (in the form of a doppelganger of Captain Cobb) filling time until our arrival at the Alini system. Meanwhile, while there are currently no other anomaly encounters running, the crew are as busy as ever with relationships and other personal threads.

What was your favorite moment/post on the ship this month (include a link if possible!)? Hands down, my favourite thread this month has been the main Year of Hell bridge thread, where the crew were accosted by an anomalous version of their own Captain and displayed some dazzling ingenuity in tackling him into containment:

Personal Spotlight: Hjortur Ingi has more than hit the ground running, delivering a very intriguing character for our new CIO and making his presence felt quite distinctively on the Leviathan’s chaotic bridge. I’m looking forward to seeing what he brings to the table next month.

And Melissa Aragon, as security officer Juliet ‘Jewels’ Anders, displayed a wonderfully insightful and empathetic side to her character in the Year of Hell bridge thread, rounding out a character who has already become known for her sassy one-liners and also her ability to be in the right place at the right time when the crew need her the most.

Name one thing you want to improve on the ship for next month. For next month I expect ‘Year of Hell’ to delve into the real heart of the story as the crew begin to investigate the anomaly and experience some of its curious and terrifying effects for ourselves.

Executive Officer: J Ridgley

How are the DHs doing? Are they all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims?Unfortunately I have been mostly inactive over this period due to an injury and surgery, however, I am mostly happy with the current participants in the main sim however I would like to see our other DHS do more towards creating side simms and create an area their departments can thrive in.

How are the JOs doing? Are the all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims?It is always difficult on Levi to keep track of our JOs as they are the living soul of the ship, we really have been graced by our crew who are always active both in the Main sim and creating a beautiful web of side sims for anyone to dive into!

Who is the shining star this month? This month despite my decreased activity it is clear that Ensign Luna has been great, not only in writing but also in her willingness to improve her writing as a writer.

Gamemaster: No report submitted

FComm’s Comments: Posting is up and the Sim is about full running. Activity is great and with the new members, the Levi is showing she is a force to be reckoned with in the Fleet.

This month will focus on participation and pushing the DHs to work on Sims of their own and not just the CO and XO.

Ensign Luna’s writer, Christina Crafford, is nominated for writer of the month for improvement and desire to do more.

USS Manhattan

Commanding Officer: James Sinclair

How is your ship looking overall? The ship is looking very healthy at the moment. Main Sim has stated and looks to be an exciting one for sure! We are a little LOA heavy at the moment, but nothing unexpected for this time of year.

What was your favorite moment/post on the ship this month (include a link if possible!)? The Black and Silver Ball was fantastic. A lot of well earned promotions and some quality teasing of the XO made for a wonderful end of Sim thread.

Name one thing you want to improve on the ship for next month.Even though we literally just started the sim, I want to make sure the story encompasses all departments. I have no doubt that our GM has that well in hand, though.

Executive Officer: No report submitted

Gamemaster: Gene Gibbs

Summarize the sim plot so far as if you were providing it to a new member joining the ship: While scanning a sector of space rumored to suggest hints for the enigmatic Turei and their Underspace corridors the Manhattan detected energy readings from a binary system of two white dwarf stars with a single planet. It quickly was apparent that the energy readings were a battle between Kazon and Trabe vessels that involved easily 20 ships. The Manhattan observed the conflict until one of the two Trabe vessels defending the world was destroyed. At that time a distress call was sent out from the world whereupon the Manhattan sent out a call for hostilities to stop. One Kazon vessel, commanded apparently by a Jal-Kulnah, responded with a less than hoped for reply.

Who was the biggest contributor this month to driving the sim forward? Thus far we have only just begun and have one thread happening. All the people on the bridge - ops, captain, science, intel and the like are doing marvelously in fitting into the scene as painted.

FComm’s Comments: XO on LOA till the 12th. Left message to please submit report upon return anyway.

Sim just started and looks promising. Picking up the posting and catching the AWOL seem to be focuses this month.

USS Memorial

Commanding Officer: No report submitted

Executive Officer: No report submitted

Gamemaster: No report submitted

FComm’s Comments: CO and XO AWOL
GM no report.
Reports will be coming

6/11 are AWOL at time of report. Posting is slow.

Ship health will be focus this month to discover why things are slacking and hopefully see how we can remedy it.

Several ships are suffering this month. Captain’s asked that they ‘not be pestered’ about reports. This is the result smiles sadly Next month, pestering will commence.

There will be addendums to this report as missing ship reports are filed. Health of ships, sims and rosters will be focus this month for entire fleet.

Leviathan passed her recent eval and is still shining in the Fleet. No major Fleet Award nominations barring Christina Crafford who plays Luna on board the Levi.
