The Foremost Fleet Report - October 2021

USS Ark Angel

Commanding Officer: Robert Archer

How is your ship looking overall? Overall the Ark Angel is doing well. A few off and on loa/awols but nothing major. We’re still looking for a CNS and trying to mold some DH/JO interactions but again nothing big stands out.

What was your favorite moment/post on the ship this month (include a link if possible!)?

Name one thing you want to improve on the ship for next month.Getting a CNS for sure and continuing work on molding the new DH’s and JO’s together

Executive Officer: Sam Pennington

How are the DHs doing? Are they all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims? Our DH roster keeps pretty active. Even if someone does slip into AWOL territory, they’re very responsive and easy to get back into the swing of things.

How are the JOs doing? Are the all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims? We’re working on getting more, but the JO we have keeps busy and is never shy to jump in.

Who is the shining star this month? I’d like to point out Kieron Hoult, as new CoS Kyle Anders. This character is very new, but I already have a good sense of who he is, and that’s good writing.

Gamemaster: Robert Archer

Summarize the sim plot so far as if you were providing it to a new member joining the ship: The sim is slowly but surely moving ahead. Part of the hold up was we had to find new DH’s and JO’s the past month or so. So catching those folks up with things required a bit of a step back/side step.

Who was the biggest contributor this month to driving the sim forward?

FComm’s Comments: Looking to work with CO and XO to rebuild roster up and regain the health of the ship to move her forward into the coming months.

USS Asimov

Commanding Officer: Sam Pennington

How is your ship looking overall? We’re holding steady. We remain active and generally at or slightly above our slow speed, which I’m content with. The sim keeps moving along and has all the departments involved, which always makes me happy to see.

What was your favorite moment/post on the ship this month (include a link if possible!)? This was an early post for our new(ish) helm officer, and I really enjoyed the humor and character in it. https://www.star-fleet.com/core/stf1/asimov/posts/155406/

Name one thing you want to improve on the ship for next month.I’d like to see more side sims get started. We have a very active main sim, and a couple side sims, but I’d like to see more people branching out.

Executive Officer: No report submitted

Gamemaster: James Sinclair

Summarize the sim plot so far as if you were providing it to a new member joining the ship: Tasked with inserting an Agent into the organizational structure of a clandestine criminal organization, the Asimov has docked at a hidden station and is in the process of refitting itself to look and act like a mercenary / pirate ship.

Who was the biggest contributor this month to driving the sim forward? The entire crew is participating in the sim and is doing a smashing job of staying on task and pushing their respective departments forward.

FComm’s Comments: Working with CO to bring up the speed and posting they are looking for and helping to find ways to build side sims to promote character growth.

SS Bonaventure

Commanding Officer: Melissa Aragon

How is your ship looking overall? Ship doing well. Sim moving along, should wrap up soon. Looking forward to character building with side sims when this sim is over.

What was your favorite moment/post on the ship this month (include a link if possible!)? We are all just moving along. I can’t think of any outstanding. Everyone is posting well and keeping things going.

Name one thing you want to improve on the ship for next month.Posting speeds (mine included). We need to build the Bonnie back up and I’m cutting back on things to make it a possible thing in the coming months.

Executive Officer: Steve Johnson

How are the DHs doing? Are they all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims? It’s been a slow month all around, with some added time off needed for both myself and Mel. However the ship has steadily slogged on with the simm.

How are the JOs doing? Are the all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims?About the same. It’s been a bit slow all over, but things will hopefully pick up.

Who is the shining star this month?

Gamemaster: Robert Archer

Summarize the sim plot so far as if you were providing it to a new member joining the ship: The sim is moving slowly to the end, the landing party has unearthed the mystery power source in the mystery base, while the ship side crew is learning more about the war on the planet below.

Who was the biggest contributor this month to driving the sim forward?

FComm’s Comments: Looking forward to the Sim reveal on how we are getting home. Goals in coming months are to improve character growth and side sims as well as posting speeds.

USS Leviathan

Commanding Officer: No report submitted

Executive Officer: J Ridgley

How are the DHs doing? Are they all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims? With the recent loss of our CO, and my own bout of LOA that being said our DH’s have done a great job at keeping side-sims going and I commend then on doing so. The Main sim is starting to gain traction as I have now started be more active

How are the JOs doing? Are the all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims?JO’s as always are the life force of this ship and again commend them for remaining with it both in side and main sims is commendable.

Who is the shining star this month? With my absence its unfortunately difficult to pin point however with her departure I think its only right that Sharon deserves the shining star of the month. She bore fruit to idea and has steered the ship to where we are now and she certainly deserves credit for that.

Gamemaster: No report submitted

FComm’s Comments: The absence of Sharon has saddened us all. And we will miss her. They are not easy shoes to fill though this month we will attempt to do so.
Sharon was the creator of this baby and will be missed.

Goals this month are to find a new CO and bring the ship back up to par.

USS Manhattan

Commanding Officer: James Sinclair

How is your ship looking overall? Its been a slow month all around. With our GM absent and various RL issues working against the crew, posting has dropped off. I feel these are temporary issues and will be sorted out after the holidays are over.

What was your favorite moment/post on the ship this month (include a link if possible!)? All of the posting, even as slow as it has been, has been good.

Name one thing you want to improve on the ship for next month. The next month is a hard time historically in the club, what with holidays and such. I would like to see posting continue as much as is comfortable for the crew; and I would like to see our GM back, because that means he is doing better.

Executive Officer: Jennifer Ward

How are the DHs doing? Are they all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims? This has been a hard month for Manhattan we are at 110 posts for Oct down from 361 in Sept. Real life, for a myriad of reasons, has played a part in this. Gene has needed to take a much needed and deserved break. The main sim is holding stead but slowly. Side sims are varied and in depth which is a signature of the quality of the writers on Manhattan. I really can’t pick a story that I love best from the DHs. They are all worth reading.

There are some AWOLs that I would like to see cleared but nothing too outstanding.

How are the JOs doing? Are the all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims?Again this has been a hard month with real life for most of the crew, we lost a couple of people, and the sim is on a much needed pause. So story telling has fallen on the individual writers. So things have slowed down some, but the writing is still top notch. That being said our JOs are active and participating, but not everyone is within posting limits. This I think is a reflection of just the time of year and perhaps some burn out.

This thread between the XO and the CRIT team leader, Pretha Oberon (played by Meli) is very good. I have enjoyed this interaction and letting the new XO learn about this unique team on board. https://www.star-fleet.com/core/stf1/manhattan/posts/156532/

Who is the shining star this month? I have to say that this thread between our Counter-Intelligence Officer, Faye Calloway (played by Linds) and the Captain Alex Cochrane (played by James) is really outstanding. There is a lot of history here both individually and together between these two. It’s the kind of side stories that we all love to watch develop in Trek that deal with those hard personal issues the are directly connected to the bigger picture. Very well done!

Gamemaster: Gene Gibbs

Summarize the sim plot so far as if you were providing it to a new member joining the ship: More for the Fleet Comm than for publication … Well, technically I’ve been away so have nothing to report. I had written about stepping back and out as I’d felt my GM Mojo was on the rocks. James offered that I could post again when I could and not run off which is probably the better of the two options. I’ve been away for a good month there and am thinking I may have the wherewithal to get back into it. Things are a struggle in the personal life here on most venues and it is exhausting. I can come to a ship to post as a character but when I came to the GM part, which isn’t that different to me, I was looking a a brick wall.

Who was the biggest contributor this month to driving the sim forward?

FComm’s Comments: Ship is struggling and we will work together (CO, XO, GM and myself) to help bring her back on keel. Would like to see her sim finish up as happily as it began and work on character developments and side sims.

USS Memorial

Commanding Officer: Kirt Gartner

How is your ship looking overall? We are unsure now if the Upgrade to the MOTD will still happen I must get in contact with Sharron to find out
However, we are posting and staying consistent as posting goes though we still have a few AWOLS that we need to stay on top of

What was your favorite moment/post on the ship this month (include a link if possible!)? We are using our new fighters right away in this sim for a recon flight

Name one thing you want to improve on the ship for next month.hopefully make sure the MOTD Upgrade will still happen and if not with Sharron find someone who can help with it

Executive Officer: No report submitted

Gamemaster: Sam Pennington

Summarize the sim plot so far as if you were providing it to a new member joining the ship: The Memorial has arrived at the planet Eridion, attempting to find the origin of a distress signal. There is an abandoned Starfleet base there, but generally no reason there should be life on this inhospitable world. The fighter wing has gone down to have a peek at the planet from closer.

Who was the biggest contributor this month to driving the sim forward? Sam Haynes has been moving the story forward with the fighter wing side and it’s been very helpful.

FComm’s Comments: While some projects are on hold, the ship is doing fairly well.
This month looking to improve posting counts and character building with side sims.

This has been a rough month all the way around the Fleet. Foremost was no different in that score. I am going to work closely with the COs, XOs, and GMs, as long as I am able, to keep them afloat and on top of things through the coming holiday seasons.

Kudos to all the ships for all they are doing and to the writers behind those characters for making it happen.

The COs, XOs and GMs are participating as they should, IC. OOC, most are doing well in keeping things going. Those that are struggling are working at making a better job of it.

XOs of the Asimov and the Memorial didn’t submit posts. Still awaiting responses.

I think all the ships in the Fleet did well this month. It’s been hard on everyone with absent GMs, COs, and slow postings. And the Levi is still moving along despite the loss of their CO, Sharon. Congrats to everyone for sticking and staying and keeping things going.
