Orvos had been the last to board the pod, though to be fair, the only others with him were Lazol and Delaney. He had gotten to know the security officer well enough during the game night in the lounge before the mission began. The CPO on the other hand was fresh and he was still getting to know the new crew.

Orvos looked out the window as the Athena roared towards their foe. A beauty of a ship she was. It was a bit distressing to see her go this way, but he had been here before. He had seen ships go only to hope for a rescue. His own ship he had once commanded centuries ago, the Aurora, had seen its demise. Though he had managed to warp out before its certain destruction.

This was different. He would witness her dying breathe. He would see to it that she received the honor she deserved. And he would be certain to ensure that it wasn’t all in vain.

He turned to sensor readouts anticipating a potential trajectory to a safe place to land on the planet below.

-Lt. Orvos Legen, CE

=/\=All crew, this is the Captain. We’re heading for the planet. Stick together and watch out for each other. We’ll see each other shortly. Koraia out,=/\= she said, still sounding exceedingly calm.

Fl. Captain Koraia, CO

Orvos understood both her instructions and her calmness. Athena was going down. As hard as it ever was to lose a ship, he knew all too well that everything could fall apart if the fearless leader fell apart as well.

And right now, in this escape pod, he was in charge. Orvos laid in a course to the planet’s surface, specifically near the Guardian of Forever. “Alright, you guys hang tight. We’ll be on the surface in no time.” he said as he adjusted his wrist devices.

-Lt. Orvos Legen, CE

Izzy didn’t hear either the Captain’s announcement and the Chief Engineer’s attempt at reassurance. Her mind as she sat strapped into the life saving escape pod, was frozen. She was no longer here among the engineers who had made it to the escape pod. Blackness scoured the edges of her vision and she closed her eyes against the oncoming visions. Though no one screamed, she heard screams. Though there was no blaster fire, she heard the familiar sound. Isabel Delaney was lost in her flashback. Feeling broken bones and flames lick her skin as though it was happening in the confines of the pod, even as it left the raging Athena behind as it fell to its final sacrifice.

While the pod pursued its course, Orvos quickly pulled out his drone and worked on some minute details that required immediate fixing. It wouldn’t be perfect, but it he needed it ready, even if for a short bit.

-Lt. Orvos Legen, CE

The shuttle pod’s landing was none too pretty but functional all the same. Bumps and bruises were in profusion but thankfully no broken bones.

A comm channel on the crews combadges opened up. =^=Chief Medical Office Grey to all Crewmembers, We’ve set up a Triage Station at my Location, if you are too injured to move let us know, we’ll send a Medical team to your location.=^= The Calm and collected voice of the Scottish CMO informed everyone and the channel closed as soon as it opened.

The landing was enough to jar Izzy back to the present. Tears had run warm and salty down her cheeks leaving their tale tell tracks. Her breathing was heavy and short. One of the crew might mistake her obvious distress as being due to the landing, but Izzy had been through far worse. The flashback left her immobile though. Her fingers gripped her straps and she found, with mild panic, that she could not disengage them. Her mind told her hands to let go, but they did nothing, only adding to her panic.

Orvos had managed to put the drone back before they had landed. It wasnt absolutely smooth, but it could certainly have been worse. He ignored a particular bruise on his arm in order to properly get the people in the pod outside and safe.

He tapped a few controls as the hatch opened to the exterior.

“Everyone, file out! Engineers, let’s go make sure everyone landed safely. Be ready for proper maintenance. I’ll rendevouz with the command staff. If you need medical attention, please say so. We will get someone either here or get you to the medical triage area.”

He then looked up as people filed out. Orvos paused though seeing Delaney still in her seat. A ping struck his mind through his empathic senses. Something wasn’t right.

Orvos moved closer to Delaney and bent his legs down, bring his eyes to her level. “What’s wrong?” he said softly, knowing something wasn’t right. He was an engineer, sure. But part of being El Aurian meant you were in tune with people around you.

-Lt. Orvos Legen, CE

Isabel looked at her hands, willing her fingers to open their grip but they didn’t obey. At the sound of someone’s voice, she turned her head to see Orvos Legen on her level, near but not overly so as to cause panic. She closed her eyes and tears fell as her breathing remained ragged and swift. Echos of terror stayed awash within her still paralyzing her. “I …” She swallowed and tried again. “I can’t move. My hands don’t seem to want to listen.” Izzy opened up her eyes and looked at her left white knuckled hand. It still didn’t so much as twitch loose.

She didn’t want to open up to this stranger about her flashbacks and trauma. It just wasn’t something she could do with him. However, there was significant growth in the fact that she could at least identify that she had had a flashback even if only to herself. But she couldn’t do this on her own. She needed help to get out of the escape pod.

Delaney, Sec

Orvos recognized the look and symptoms. He had no idea how she would react to him. Something had caused her some mental trauma, and whatever triggers they might be, he wasn’t sure. He kept his eyes level with her and his movements slow and precise. “Would you like a counselor to come by?” he inquired, hoping it might help.

-Lt. Orvos Legen, CE

She shook her head rather violently at that notion. She had never really had much success with counselors before. While the Athena’s counselors were probably wonderful, she just couldn’t allow herself to pull them away from their duties elsewhere. Besides, how long would it take for him to find a counselor and then bring them here? Far too long for their immediate assistance to do good. She just needed to get out of this escape pod. Then she could handle everything in due time… maybe.

“I just… I think my hands have seized. I can’t make them move.” Still breathing in panicked half breaths, she looked to the hand holds on either side of her seat. Her fingers were stark white against the tan cream color so indicative of Star Fleet regulation decor. “Can you help me get out?” Izzy’s forest green eyes were wide and pleading with the Chief Engineer. Even if he got her hands free, he would have to unbuckle her because her hands just weren’t working. If she had the mental capacity to think about it much, she would have been embarrassed, but the situation was embarrassing enough as it was.

Bump

OOC: I thought I had missed one. Thanks for the bump Amber! :)

IC: Orvos nodded in agreement as he unbuckled the safety harness. He then reached for her hands and started lightly pulling them off of the harness giving it more and more strength until she finally let go. He then observed her, hoping to glean something from her inability to control her hands. Was she fit for duty? Was it appropriate to send her out into the field, or would she need medical attention?

-Lt. Orvos Legen, CE

The prying worked in short order. He wouldn’t have to give it much effort beyond the initial movement. It was as if the ice melted almost as soon as movement was achieved. This was definitely a first for her… then again this was the first time she ever had to take an escape pod. Normally her flashbacks were mild and she was able to function through them. The situation had definitely triggered things she though of as long ago worked through. Glad to finally be free of her restraints, she moved off her seat and left the confines of the escape pod.

Once outside, she took several long and deep breaths and slowly stretched her fingers and palms back to normal bloodflow and mobility. Her curly red hair had come un-tucked from her braid. Tears had left her cheeks streaked and her face more pale than normal which was saying something given her Irish descent. She rubbed her face with her hands and then turned to Lt. Legen. “Thank ya’ sir. I am much better now. Shall we go join th’ others?”

Delaney, Sec

Orvos put a hand on her shoulder and looked her in the eye, his mind paying close empathetic attention to her. “You’re sure you’re fine?” he inquired. “You’re awfully pale, and don’t you think about blaming your Irish heritage on that.” He said anticipating her potential quip.

-Lt. Orvos Legen, CE

She gave him a shaky half smile. She didn’t want to tell him that it took a great deal of effort not to shy away from his touch. She didn’t want to tell him that all she wanted to do was curl up and sleep for the next three days in a medical coma so dreams wouldn’t wake her with cold sweats and screaming, but she didn’t. “I am well enough t’ do my job.” This at least was true. Having been through far worse and still been able to do her job on the Europa, she knew she could do this.

Delaney, Sec

Orvos hesitated, but let her have her leave. “Commander R’han or Vander will likely need you. Probably best for me to let you find them.” Orvos nodded to her, indicating he understood and would let her leave to do her job. “You be careful out there. Don’t need to be losing any key players for our game days.” He added a wink before heading off himself to the Guardian.

-Lt. Orvos Legen, CE

“Thank you”She said sincerely before he left and then turned herself to go find her boss. He would probably be wondering where she was. Now out of the Escape pod, she was feeling more normal by the minute. Her training and hard won willpower coming once more to the forefront. She had a job to do, a job she was very good at. She could attack the problem, even if she could not attack her mental ones with the same expertise and skill.

Delaney, Sec
