Liam’s eyes widened in alarm.
“Jones, I think our Q and A session is currently being cut short,” Liam stated after R’han confirmed his suspicions.
In the back of his mind, he wasn’t eager to experience a test to see if the creature’s fire resistance extended to his whole body. It was better to be safe rather than sorry.
He wasn’t quite sure of the reason, but there was little he could do now. His eyes flipped about the area to locate some tunnel, cavern, or makeshift shelf in the ruins around them. This way the fire wouldn’t promptly turn them into cinders. When something suitable popped out, he intended to grip Jones by the arm then tug him into it first. Unless Jones was the quicker of the pair. It was Liam’s duty as the current senior officer to ensure those under him were safe first.
His eyes immediately scanned the ruins to seek some sort of makeshift shelter for those who needed it.
“We’ll talk more when we get somewhere safer.”

A svelte voice called out from the tunnel Ryxzyth had delved into the earth earlier, “Quick, in here”. The golden eyes of S’Raal beckoned along with an insistent paw. T’Pon was close behind him and her eyes were wide from the danger.

Liam looked toward the sound’s source. A sense of familiarity washed over the CSO and he tapped Jone’s arm, gesturing for the officer to go first. As they followed the pair, all Liam’s questions stood behind his firmly clenched teeth. With a firestorm bearing down on them, now seemed to be the worst time to satisfy his curiosity.
Once inside what appeared to be safety, Liam loosen his jaw to speak, “You have perfect timing. This isn’t a coincidence you two happen to be in the right place, at the right time Am I correct?”

Dan appreciated his CSO pointing out a safe place to weather the fire storm. Watching the two officers Dan wondered if this was a coincidence as well.
