The scan showed that the device was attached to the console via a simple magnetic seal. It was difficult to determine whether or not removing it would cause it to respond, chroniton technology was a new field to this century’s Starfleet engineers. The lights continued to blink faster and faster and then the console itself lit up as some program responded from somewhere transferring control of the engineering systems from primary systems to the secondary systems panel they were looking at right now.

A thought occured to Jayden. “Sir, Can we just beam the whole console into space?” He asked curiously, his mind racing.

Orvos shook his head. “Unlikely. It would likely do significant damage to all secondary systems, given that this where they are routed. However…” he said looking over the console. “I believe we have control of engineering systems through this console. Curious.”

He attempted to gain control of the engineering systems that had been transferred to their console. “The device is likely Chroniton in nature. If I can get a solid dispersal of anyons in this area, maybe we could transport the device away from the ship?” he pondered aloud, curious as to what Bennett would say. He worked on following through with his plan while the ensign either waited or replied.

“Good idea Chief, I will have to remember that one.” he replied.

Orvos pointed to a similar console nearby. “Maybe be ready with the transporters. I’m hoping that anyons might render it disabled.”

“Yes sir.” he moved over to another console and set up the transporter systems.

“Transporters ready. I’ll try and time the beam out with a power surge, it might mask the signature.”

-Lt. Orvos Legen, CE

The anyons were indeed working their prescribed effect on the device and the lights became out of sync and erratic, however suddenly the lights went completely dead and at that precise moment the internal communication system broadcast red alert. They had come into contact with the Counterstrike vessel and were under fire. The shot that was going to tear through the Athena was likely only moments away…

“Punch it with the transporter!” he hollered right before a communique came in on his combadge.

“Energizing” Jayden said and started the transport.

Orvos’ commbadge chirped on their special frequency. =/\=Koraia to Orvos. We have the servo. Tell me you have a way to keep this ship in one piece or else it’s going to be a bunch of pieces again.=/\=

Fl. Captain Koraia (The Current One cross-posting from Bridge)

=/\=Aye Captain. I have a way to keep the ship in one piece.=/\= he replied momentarily waiting for transport and considering that all avenues had been taken to ensure the ship was safe.

-Lt. Orvos Legen, CE

While the transport initiated, he sent a coded message in an El Aurian language to Main Engineering that the past Orvos there would recognize. //Temporal Warp Now\

=/\=Understood, Lieutenant. Whatever you’re going to do I would suggest you do it very quickly!=/\= She was calm while her voice conveyed the urgency of their situation.

Fl. Captain Koraia, CO

Meanwhile, in main engineering, past Orvos received the message directly to his PADD. They had just been hit by weapons fire from the enemy ship and readings had indicated that the weapons were Chroniton based. What a day! Chronitons everywhere and the Chroniton readings he detected earlier were either not there or masked somehow. Would temporal warp be possible? They had been hit with Chroniton weapons.

Orvos jumped to the controls in engineering and prepped the warp core quickly and simultaneously messaged the captain on the bridge. =/\=Legen to bridge. Maneuver for warp. We may yet still get out of here if we push the engines again.=/\=

He hoped the message had been right. …

-Lt. Orvos Legen, CE

“Did it work?” Jayden asked nervously.

-Jay
