“Yes Chief” Dan said as he began applying the silicon gel as directed. Dan wasn’t sure what his alternate self would be like.

Ensign Dan Jones (Scientist)

OOC This marks the point where everyone starts to arrive at the Guardian which will continue to be repaired as you arrive. Then after that it’s back to the ship for a good conversation with yourself before reintegration. Any questions? My email is open :-)

Merydith and Meridyth arrived in time to see the beginnings of the transporter operation, they seemed to be looking for someone. Minutes later Michail also moved into the area and after a quick consultation with T’Pon he leapt on top of a nearby rock and addressed the multitude that had gathered, he broadcast to to the ship above via a communicator patched in.

“I’ll make this short because time is short” he said with a small snort at his own inevitable pun, “You have won a great victory today and it would take too long to try and explain it right now. Know this though, very shortly we will have a visitor and she is of the same race that you have been fighting desperately against”.

Murmurings erupted at this pronouncement from what amounted to a total stranger to most that we’re there.

Michail waved his hands at the crowd in an attempt to placate them and mollify those that had lost loved ones in the attack. His words rose and somehow through technology unknown it reached clearly to the edge of the crowd. “Of the same race but not of the same purpose as those who attacked you”.

Michail looked down at the faces around him in the hopes of getting some kind of support for fear that if he didn’t the envoy that was coming was going to get a less than cordial reception.

Nearby, the shimmer of the transporter beam appeared, and deposited the slight frame of the blonde haired diplomatic officer. She looked around at her fellow crew. She had heard Michail’s words as she had prepared to beam down, so she approached him where he stood on the rock.

“How may I be of assistance?” She asked him, her eyes scanning the assembled crew, hoping to impart some form of comfort and ease into them, even though for everyone, herself included, things were a little unsettling. She hadn’t even encountered her past timeline self, nor had given much thought to her own personal integration process.

-Kaylee Baxter

Michail grimaced, “Definitely”. He looked at the crowd “Here’s the skinny, Counter Strike is a breakaway group of the Aegis that seek to bend the past present and future to further an elitist agenda whereas the Aegis follow the Temporal Prime Directive. Our actions here have undone a Counter Strike plot to remove the Aegis influence from this time period but they didn’t count on the fact that the Guardian itself was impervious to their efforts to eradicate it” He paused for a second “Long story short the Aegis are sending an operative to assist us in the final clean up and I’m worried that this crowd is going to be hostile when she arrives” He looked at Kaylee, “We really don’t want to have an incident here”.

He looked up sharply as there was an exclamation from the back of the crowd. An octopoid shape clothed in shiny gray had walked up to the encroaching time bubble from the outside and pressing a section of it’s suit blithely stepped through the energy barrier and began to walk towards Kaylee and Michail with what amounted to a very focused look in her eyes.

“Everyone just remain calm!” Kaylee announced to her fellow assembled crew. “She is here to help us.”

Stepping up to the newcomer, she gave a slight bow of her head. “I am Kaylee Baxter the Chief Diplomatic Officer of the Athena and a senior member of the crew. We are grateful for your assistance.”

Liam wanted to roll his eyes at Michail’s pun and his reaction to it, feeling now wasn’t the time for humor. His noted the mention of the Aegis arriving. It took a moment for it to click. Their enemy weren’t an organization, like he originally assumed, but a race. Among the wave of murmuring, Liam remained quiet and inverted with his own reaction. Though his eyes betrayal they weren’t shared by everyone else.

He had been about to say something, when his ears caught the familiar sounds of the transporter beaming someone down. His attention broke from his original task toward the display. When Baxter stepped in to address things, the CSO pulled back and focused on what he knew best. Science. If she needed his help then she would request it. For now, he wanted to be useful and that’s what he intended to be.

“They seem to forget that all humans aren’t judged for a select few’s rotten decisions. We’re not the only creatures unique in that trait,” Liam mumbled quietly to himself.

Dan noticed that his DH was looking a little grumpy and hurried to complete his task. “The silicon gel has been applied to the Horta. Let the healing begin.” Dan hoped a bit of flippancy would improve morale.

Ensign Dan Jones (Scientist)

At the behest of the Chief Science Officer and with S’Raal’s guidance the transporter beam started it’s laborious process of remaking the Guardian of Forever. Flashes of coruscating light flashed over it’s and Rxzyth’s surface and finally the substantially reduced Rxzyth glided to the Guardian and used her own essence to breath new life into the silicon structure. Haltingly at first the Guardian began to flicker and then pulse. It’s voice boomed out just in time to cut off the first words of the Aegis envoy.

“The cycle is complete”.

S’Raal took hold of the now rather familiar block of silicon stone and nodding at T’Pon they and Rxzyth retired into the tunnel to complete their part in the Mobius loop.

Using a voice synthesiser the Aegis ambassador addressed Kaylee in a voice that could be heard to the edge of the crowd.

“We must bring this cycle to an end else all will be undone. We owe you a debt but you in turn owe us many that you know not. We have protected you throughout the ages as we knew of your contribution to the ending of the threat of the Borg in true time.” The octopoid looked somehow thoughtful and then continued “But you must leave this place at once or one of you may be tempted to revive the legacy of Pierce and Counter Strike. We must evacuate you all to the ship immediately for reintegration else all will be as nought”.

Gamemaster Conspiracy Theorist (GMT)

Liam withheld his grumble at the Aegis’ words, mainly the fact someone would repeat this mess. Changing time was a fickle and dangerous thing. Man should near believe himself worthy of manipulating it. The CSO exhaled then patted Jones on the shoulder, a rare gesture for a job well done as he followed everyone else’s lead.

After a surge of medical brought their injured patients and beamed up to the ship Benjamin finally arrived. He was being supported by Doctor Karina Niles on his right sigde, his left hand holding his right side clearly injured. He looked over to the crowd gathered and the speech being given “You know I’m thinking of picking up knitting” He said to Dr Niles “Yeah something that doesn’t require me fighitng giant octopus monsters with a laser scalpel” He paused “Damn and that was my favorite scalpel”

OOC: Dr. Grey’s reply felt out of place in this thread so I wasn’t sure if it was suppose to be here or not, but I couldn’t help replying to it.

Once beamed onto the ship Liam shook his head at Dr. Grey sling over his companion. It appeared everyone struggled with the issues created by the rips in time. Though Liam was grateful he didn’t have to fight anything, traces of stress were still there.

“I always found fencing more productive and relaxing. It might also spare your favorite scalpel in the future,” Liam stated loud enough for Dr. Grey to hear, hinting subtly to interest for a partner.

Karina passed the injured man to a couple Ensigns helping the injured to medical and other locations. “Knitting? Can I talk you into a sweater? Perhaps one with a nice cable twist down the front.” She laughed and nodded to Liam. “Hmmm perhaps knitting with a rapier. Really challenge his doctoral dexterity.” She laughed and moved to Grey’s side to help clear the transporter pad.

Dan materialized on the transporter pad and looked around the room before walking off the pad. Dan continued across the room and headed for the door. Dan was eager to head for the science lab and meet his alternate self.

Benjamin laughed then winced “You know I’ve always been curious about fencing, plenty of the Lads in Medical school did fencing,” He told the Chief Scientist “But no I think I’ll avoid tackling giant poisonous octopus creatures from hell” He smiled at the pair “So what happens now, I’m not entirely sure what’s been happening” He asked Madison curiously.
