With Ian’s final post up, our sim is officially over, aside from whatever loose ends will be wrapped up. The ship is returning to Starbase 157 so we can facilitate IC crew transfers and sim aftermath.Before I go on, I want to first thank Ian for a truly fantastic sim. Jeremy was very proud of you every step of the way and we had multiple conversations where we both went, Wow, he’s doing really great!. Your eval will be forthcoming and I hope it will be sorted out before the end of the month, leaving us to undoubtedly start a new sim in the new year. In this I’m just the GMM, not the GMD, but I have no doubt you will pass but with flying colours! You should be proud of yourself. I know I am.
Next, I told you I would announce the new XO. When prompted to begin looking for a new one by Jeremy himself, I sat back and had a hard think about the person I thought might be a good fit for our complicated ship. Miriam, who goes by FemaleVillager, or V’Ger, most of the time, immediately was my first thought and I was delighted when she said yes. It’s her first XO position, so I once again have the honour of training her. Bear with us while we work through this transition, but I do know she intends to have threads with everyone in the near future. She comes to our ship with a custom species (part of a group of them), that are highly developed and I look forward to seeing what she and they bring to the table.
I will be starting a holiday/end of sim party. The format etc will be announced within that thread, but keep an eye out for it. It will be mandatory for some IC awards etc, so don’t make me nag you. ;) BUT, I am relaxing posting limits till January 5th, in case people have a lot going on with any possible holiday celebrations. Please do post, but if you go over limits, I won’t nag you about that.
Lastly, Jeremy was all for a good IC joke. And I want to honour his amazing writing and friendship by naming one of the Athena’s shuttles/runabouts after one of his characters. So I’m thinking of the USS Nicodarius would be perfectly appropriate, but I’m leaving it to you to tell me if I’ve missed the mark here.
TL;DR? The end of a great GMT sim, we have a new XO, there’s going to be a mandatory party thread, posting limits relaxed till Jan.5th, 2019, and we have the opportunity to name a shuttle after Jeremy’s character for an inside joke (feedback requested).

Woohoo for parties! Orvos will more than likely show up, maybe do some strange dancing, who knows. Orvos can be unpredictable some times. ;)
Yay for relaxed posting limits! I’ll be of off work after this weekend for 3 weeks so I will likely be posting here a bit more during this time haha.
And, last but certainly not least, I LOVE the idea of naming a shuttle after Nico. The Nicodarius it is! (In my opinion.)

Absolute yes to the shuttle, don’t let Stark fly it though :-) Thanks for the encouragement over the Sim people, you all added some great twists to it that even I didn’t see coming. Big welcome to Miriam, I’ve read over your bio and am really looking forward to meeting Luka onboard. I’ll be posting again soon.
