The ensign nodded, extending his hand to the man. “Thank you, sir.”
He looked over at Cherry and smiled again “See Miss Cherry, pleasant, not scary” he kept grinning just a little longer than was comfortable in a social situation.

He made his way past the Intelligence Officer and walked to the desk, smiling at Cherry. “Ensign Caser Luj. I’m here for my boarding eval.”

OOC: No pressure on the German, huh? ;)Cherry had rounded the corner and looked at them, her stunning blond mane of golden locks tied back in a tail that made her Risan mark all the more prominent on her forehead. She gave him an unbelieving half smile.
“Tell that to all those teeth you’re showing when you smile.” she said and chuckled. She was so aware of the fact that as CIO he knew exactly what was going on where on the ship with which new crewmember, but she had long since given up chasing him away from the vicinity of the counselor’s suites.
“I have beautiful teeth” he said in mock horror, “Why would I hide them?”
Luj managed to stifle a chuckle at the CIO’s retort, but just barely. He decided that he liked the man, ambush notwithstanding.
“Please let Ensign Caser Luj have his eval now, or I’ll call your wife.” she said and gave him a challenging toothy grin in return, pointing to the Ensign. “This one’s got you all figured out it seems.” she added and chuckled again.

“Yes Miss Cherry” Stark said looking like a recalcitrant schoolboy in the headmasters office and with that he quietly left tail swishing happily.

Luj allowed himself a little laugh after Stark departed before turning back to Cherry. “I’ve heard that the Athena has some unique characters on board. I’m glad to see I wasn’t misinformed.”

Cherry nodded emphatically. “And you’re about to meet the next one. The blue door please, the head counselor Laraan is waiting for you… Cmdr. Stark’s wife.” she said and winked.

He returned the wink and made his way to the door, ringing the chime and awaiting permission to enter. “Well,” he thought to himself, “I’m sure it can’t get much weirder around here.”

OOC: Haaaahahahaha :-)The door swished back revealing the view to a spacious counselor suite dominated by a comfy looking coffee table with two arm chairs and a sofa standing around it. Behind it were several potted plants and to the far right corner a standard desk with a chair.
The counselor was a tiny bald woman. She didn’t look bald though, because every inch of her skin, except for her face, was covered in red filigree tattoo-like designs, swirls and cirlces that adorned her scalp in such an intricate way that it looked as if she had red curly hair.
When she heard the door she looked up from a padd she had been reading in one of the arm chairs and stood up, smiling at him. Her eyes were slightly larger than human eyes and had a very light grey colour, almost white with a dark grey fine line around the iris.
If that wasn’t enough, her voice was very different as well, it was a singing voice and her words were pronounced a bit like a song, a very beautiful song at that.
“Hello Caser. I’m Laraan, please have a seat.” she sang.

“Hmm,” he thought silently. “I was wrong.” He moved over toward the chair to which he was directed and had a sit down, slapping his thighs with his hands as he landed. “How do you do, Counselor? Interesting friend you’ve got there,” he said with a half-smile. “I hope I haven’t torpedoed my career before it’s had a chance to get started by joking with him a little.” He looked around the office, surveying the contents to try and get a sense of the woman to whom he was supposed to share his concerns and dreams.

“I’m very well thank you. Oh you refer to Cmdr. Stark? Don’t worry, my husband can’t help himself, he is by nature an extremely curious being, even if he wasn’t the CIO.” she said and laughed. Her laugh sounded like a choir of bells chiming in harmony at the same time.
“It seems he didn’t scare you.” she added.

OOC: Wow. Just lobbed that one in for me. XD
IC: Luj chuckled a little at the statement about the CIO’s natural curiosity, remembering a phrase he picked up during his studies on Earth. “He should be careful, Counselor. As I understand it, curiosity can be bad for members of his species.”
“No. He didn’t scare me. Although that’s probably because that wasn’t his intention. I’m sure he can be scary when he needs to be.”
