Julien’s eyes widened and he couldn’t supress a chuckle. “Daily? Well, I know how he feels though, but that puts you into more stress than necessary. Yes that’s a good plan, talk to him, and I will have to do the same. If he’s anything like me, he’ll be overly protective of you as well, so I need to make sure he doesn’t see me as competition first.” he said and shrugged. “It’s only natural.” he added.

“Yes” she admitted “It’s only natural… windstorms and ion storms are also natural… and quite inconvenient”. She let out the small half smile again, “I shall tell him” she said with a tone that was obvious would brook no objection.” She nodded to him as she gathered herself up to waddle. “I thank you for this conversation but I should retire now, my youngster has decided to stop kicking and rest so I believe I shall do the same while I have the chance”.

T’Pon (Gardener)

Julien’s smile widened and the dimple made his appearance. “You do that. Thank you as well T’Pon.” he said.

T’Pon made her slow and laborious way out of the grove of small trees, as she was walking away she started preparing the speech she would give to S’Raal. he would protest, he would cajole, he would beg and he would splutter. She smiled secretly to herself because she knew that in the end, he would give in.

Even after she was gone he was still sitting on the bench, a truly nice spot. He should have expected that among a large crew like this there would be more couples maybe. But the large number of them among the senior staff was surprising.

How would he manage, he wondered. He had never been good at being alone, but he also didn’t want to make any more empty promises. He was not a young XO anymore, with a lover at every starbase, he wasn’t capable anymore of treating women like that.
But a serious relationship was also out of the question. He shook his head, his black lock falling into his forehead again.

As so often lately he reflected on his life choices and how they had brought him here. The truth was, one of the reasons he liked being here was because there was space. He was used to having a Captain’s quarters and well, his current quarters were a lot smaller. He looked through the foliage and the large window into space.
The stars were flitting by in streaks as they always did at warp… 7.5 he was guessing. Normal speed for reaching a time-sensitive mission destination.

Back on the Genny he had been able to feel the warp speed almost down to 0.2 warp. He gave a sigh again. He didn’t regret any of the choices that brought him here. Although he was far from feeling as happy and as ‘right’ as he had felt in his Captain’s chair. But he had made those choices exactly for that reason - to not regret anything later in life.

A few minutes after the Vulcan groundskeeper had stepped out of the arboretum, another figure stepped through the doors. Julien would hear the sounds of bare feet tapping against the ground, and the rustling of leaves as whoever was in the arboretum was touching the growing plants and moving the leaves around a bit.

Luka had decided to take a walk, as she wasn’t on duty, and enjoy the smell of fresh greenery. It wasn’t quite the same as actual outdoors, but it was close enough.

He heard another being entering with his right ear, but decided for now not to react. Maybe whoever it was, was also looking for some peace and quiet. Who was he to intrude. But then his olfactory sense caught the scent, and it was unlike anything he had ever scented before. He couldn’t place the scent at all and that did make him curious. He looked into the direction from where the sound came and switched on infra-red in his right android eye to see if he could make out a shape.

There were two scents that he would be able to smell, both unfamiliar. His ear would then likely pick up the sound of a chuckle, and the sound of a smallish animal. It yipped in a way that sounded somewhat like the sound of a fox or a small dog.

Across the room, his infrared vision would pick up the sight of a humanoid figure crouching, although there was something off about the figure’s shape. The head was the wrong shape, but it was hard to pick out too many details through all the foliage. He might also be able to pick up the heat off a smaller figure, about the size of a terrier or a spaniel.
