Orvos never let even the subtlest of scenarios pass him by. Why had the good ‘doctor’ come back? Was it a façade or did he really want to make sure the lounge manager got her physical done quickly?

Stark sat at the bar and awaited the next development in the saga that was unfolding around him. “Never a dull moment” he mused to himself as he watched the ebb and flow of people at the bar.

The replicator was not far at all from where Stark sat. Orvos was handy in many ways. Drinks was something he knew how to handle. Giving Marishka a sly smile, he strolled up to the bar. “And what will it be today Mr. Nightstalker?” He knew the man did not take to ales really, so he half expected him to ask for a simple cup of milk.

Stark smiled and put in the order he always had when off duty, which was typically never but today he was making an exception. “Milk, full cream, 32 degrees celsius with half a metric tablespoon of nutmeg mixed in and cinnamon dusting on top, thank you good sir”.

Stark would know however, that Orvos was curious about his noticed reverie. Typical El Aurian fashion as it were.

Stark nodded at his old acquaintances obvious positioning of himself. “I feel another swashbuckling adventure coming on Orvos, and of course as always, you’re invited”.

Orvos was quick with the drink. He had tended the likes of pubs and bars before, so making drinks was not something lost to him. Placing the glass down, he gave the caitian a broad grin. “Then I shall happily oblige! Questions is, where will we be off to now?” he mused.

Stark’s dark eyes twinkled, “I have the distinct feeling that the adventure is going to come looking for us. Have your bag packed and ready, the Silicon Swords are at work again it seems”.

Orvos raised one eyebrow considerably. He had heard of the swords in his travels, but never truly had interacted with them as far as he was aware. He kept his voice low so only they would hear each other. “The Silicon Swords? I’ve never had a chance to interact with them. Do tell.”

Marishka had listened to Orvos keenly aware of the effect she was having on the man. She seemed to be taking in everything about the lounge with a critical eye finally turning back to the two men at the bar.

“I’m afraid I can’t honor your request good man. You see, I am extravagant by nature and this place needs to be also. I want people to be able to come here and relax, conduct a business meeting, get drunk, or dance on the bar if they wish. Now I’ll be handling some modifications myself, as I said, but I’m going to need white marble with gold accents and I’m thinking the bar should be black with a silver Greek key inlay, all framed in dark wood. Yes?”

She paused and looked around again.

Orvos blinked before turning to face her. “You’ll have it,” he simply said with a grin.

“And as far as those sonic shower modifications? If you don’t come yourself, I won’t open the door. Now, I have a lot to do if this place is going to re-open soon. Find me if you need me.” Marishka said turning to walk into her office.

That caused Orvos to freeze in place. She wanted him specifically to fix her sonic shower? Why did he have the feeling she was toying with him? He could quite easily test the theory though.

He then turned to Stark. “Challenge accepted,” he said in a low voice. “What could she possibly do if I had someone else show?”

Stark looked at Orvos and raised an eyebrow and muttered sardonically “I’m going to sell tickets, sad to say it’s already three to one odds in favour of your opponent Orvos”

Orvos leaned forward. “I’m nearly a millennium old Stark. And I would wager most of the crew wouldn’t know that. A sultry woman is not about to catch me with my pants down, of that I will be certain.” He then leaned back with a pleased defiant look on his face. He then paused, mentally, realizing his ever so slight mistake in the use of an adjective. He only hoped his friend would not catch it as well.

Stark was trying very hard not to laugh, he lowered his voice and returned a comment of his own, “She has already managed to make you forget yourself enough to let that out, odds just went to four to one”. He took a deep breath and tried to control his merriment, he hadn’t indulged in a belly laugh in nearly a decade, perhaps it was time…

Orvos leaned back. “Sell those tickets then,” he replied. “You’ll see.”

“In other news, how are things treating you old friend?” he inquired curiously. He listened while taking a sip of a particularly nebulous drink.
