Karina smiled at the commendations and then turned to go. She wasn’t one for parties and figured someone should probably be in medical in case anything happened.

Stark stepped up to R’han and the others. “Congratulations” he said succinctly to them all, then turned to R’han “and what does sir intend to do with his newfound rank, power and privilege?” He stopped short of saying “we’re not worthy” because he knew in R’han’s mind it was already implied before the rank was added.

Orvos tapped his combadge and quietly whispered into it. =/\=Now=/\= He then stood there waiting for the inevitable with a broad grin. However, after a solid moment, it didn’t come.

He hit his combadge again. =/\=I said, ‘Now’=/\= with a bit more volume. And yet, still nothing.

Then with a bit more gusto, he said again. =/\=Now!=/\= And still nada. What the heck was the matter with this fella!

He quickly moved to a more visible portion, eyeing the DJ. And there he was, lost in conversation with some security ensign. He was certain that flirting was involved, but nevertheless, Orvos had given the young lad a job to do and the moment for it was nearly lost.

“Oi! I said, bloody NOW!” he hollered out to the man. The DJ turned a shade of red before quickly trying to find the song.

Suddenly the place dimmed with different multicolored lights shining to and fro and the beginning of a bouncy song began. “Ya’ll ready for this,” came the lyric as a beat began to play.

Well that was it. It probably would have been better for Orvos though to have rigged up some sort of engineered device to simply take control of the music. Ah well. Mission accomplished, if a bit late.

He then bowed allowed the rest of the attendees to enter the dance floor.

Following behind people, Ghubari picked up on Orvos’ irritation after she got upstairs and then laughed. It was Kallen’s memorial all over again. It made her momentarily sad and yet, there was no doubt that Orvos had just gotten the party started. She looked around for Konral. We’re going to have to let them enjoy the party for a bit before we intervene, she told her husband.

Well… that means we can try out the leg some more he said as he cocked a head as he eyed her up an down slowly. And to be honest I always love testing out the leg… wanna dance… that is what they are doing humans get weird with the rhythm sometimes.

Dan wasn’t much for parties or social events and decided now would be a good time to slip out and make his way back to the science lab. Dan was most comfortable in the lab and considered it his home away from home. Spying an exit on the left, Dan headed for the door.

Laraan was cheering along with the rest of the crew. She was not surprised by the promotions and very happy for them. Happily she looked around the sea of smiling and happy faces and knew that she would remember this moment and all that positive energy they were radiating for centuries to come.

Isabel walked up the steps and smiled as she saw Orvos get rather irritated with his flirting DJ. After his shout though, the DJ got his stuff together though it was obvious he was flustered from the realization that he had been caught not paying attention. She laughed a little and stepped out onto the dance floor. Izzy had never heard this music before, but it was fun and upbeat. Certainly it was not the kind of music one in a formal gown tended to dance to but Izzy was never one to stand on ceremony except as her job. She took the dance floor and began to move to the music. With her ballet and contemporary dance background, she was pretty confident she would not make a fool of herself out there.

Moving through the crowd, Janna grinned as she saw the light pulsing. The Athena’s lounge just became a nightclub and it was the best idea she’d seen in a long time! She slipped onto the dance floor, Janna on the other hand was not exactly proficient in dancing and probably would make a fool of herself. But it was also quite clear by the expression on her face that she simply didn’t care.

Grinning at him through the crowd, her laugh sounded in Konral’s head. And yet you never complained back in Tanzania. Come on Ral, let’s show them how it’s done, she said, putting a hand out as she moved closer to the dance floor. It might look odd to the causal glance of a person standing there or passing by, but it wouldn’t take much for people to spy which direction and at whom she was gazing at.

Oh and here I thought you were never going to ask. he said to her as he got up and followed suit. He was excited and nervous at the same time. He loved getting to explore this side but his sisters were always far more into the public performances than he was.

She grinned at him, lacing her fingers through his as they assumed a dance hold and began to find their own groove in the energetic music. If there was one thing that they hadn’t been shy about in the past, it was dancing together and that they in fact had moves. In this moment Ghubari was happy to connect with him.

Konral always felt like things slowed down in these moments. Ghubari had a way of making things click, things sing as he danced with her. Nothing else seemed to matter, not missions or roll call or duty. For now all he knew was this, his wife and him enjoying an evening together. He didn’t need to know anything more, nor did he want to know anything more. Often times the most simple moments could be overlooked.
