Kin awoke suddenly. She was disoriented and wasn’t even aware she had been asleep. Looking around, she was lying on grassy hill on which stood a single tree. It was remarkably similar to the Alvera Trees her parents tended on her home world, but his one bore some odd bluish fruit. Standing, she took a moment to get her bearings… which was impossible, because she had no idea where she was. The last thing she remembered was being on patrol on the ship and then… here. A bright, sunny, warm day with two suns visible high in the sapphire-blue sky. Looking down the hill, she saw a structure set into the side of a low rise. A stone entrance with a single torch on either side, and soft music coming from within.Va’Ser-la, Security
Kin made her way down the hill and to the entrance, treading lightly and looking around. Reaching the threshold, a woman’s voice came from within. “You are acknowledged. Your presence is anticipated and we welcome to cross into our home with all the blessings and permissions we may bestow. May your steps be lively and true, and my you leave concerns and hostility outside. You are welcome here.” it said in the standard Kreetassan greeting to arriving at someones home.
“I thank you for your welcome and permission. I bring no ill-will and no hateful intent. I will abide by your rules and wishes whilst I reside within your home, and I will strive to leave it a better place than when I arrived.” Kin replied from rote memory.
