Marishka had been paying attention to the conversations and had high hopes for a dance class of some kind.

“Consider it a community building activity. I’m sure others will follow.” she said amiably.

Karina laughed at the poor man. Having to give medical to a partner cause of an accident had happened to her in the past. It’s worse when high heels are involved. “Well at least it was just bruises.” She winked and smiled at him to reassure him it wasn’t such a horrible thing and she understood.

Janna, realizing she had been distracted, focused her attention on Marishka. “Tomorrow will do nicely. I’ll double check the appointment schedule but I think it’s heaviest in the morning. I think we can squeeze in a brainstorming session over lunch.” She didn’t mind working lunches at all, and indeed it seemed to be the going norm for her right now. She knew it would pass.

Marishka nodded and gave a slight smile.

“Excellent. I’ll have the best table for us. My office is small and boring. Besides, you never know what could happen.”

Marishka glanced at her staff to see that all was in order.

“Well, I will make sure to extend the invitation to all crew members. They may choose to partake in the lesson if they wish. The only question is, what kind of dance should it be? I love a lot of differing styles but my main expertise is Ballet.”

Delaney, Sec

Karina smiled as the conversation moved forward. “Ballet… I admit I am not the most graceful, but I know it’s a good limbering dance for those not looking for actual dance lessons, but more of a workout. At least, that’s my opinion.” She glanced around wondering what other dances would come up in offering or in suggestion.

Kin sat back and simply watched the exchange. Discussions of ‘dance’ took her a few moments to puzzle out. Dancing was something that the Kreetassen people did not do. She remembered briefly the first time she saw her classmates dance. She thought it was some kind of ineffective martial art until her friend Talia explained it to her. The thought made her smile, and she refocused her attention on the discussion at hand.

Luka smiled, seeing the conversation thriving, and stood up to look for anyone who wasn’t as involved in the conversation. In the meantime, she went over to make herself a second sandwich.

Luka, XO

Seeing Luka get up gave Karina a spur of boldness to get another helping as well. “Well I think any dance, or movement, gathering would be good for the crew. Many don’t work out on a regular basis.” She moved to the cart and smiled. “Of course, the hard part will probably be getting the ranked officers involved. Most cadets and Junior Officers are still used to working out from their Academy days.” She refilled her drink while she was up as well.

Conner sat quietly and listened as the conversation continued around him. He was happy to listen and sip his drink and while doing something groupwise appealed to him he did not dance. The idea was laughable and he couldn’t help a slight chuckle to himself.

Marishka was aware of the fact that not everyone at this lunch was female and, while the idea of a dance class might appeal to a great majority of the JOs, she knew there needed to be some variety.

“Okay, so a dance class it is. Perhaps we should move on to another idea. Do any of you fine gentlemen have a suggestion?” she asked politely. It wasn’t her luncheon after all.
