He nodded, envying her a bit for having known her original self. “Well then, maybe destiny had its hand in this encounter. I am a doctor here, at least for the time of this mission of mine and your secret is safe with me. What’s more, you’re not alone. Rovan and me will are there for you and so will Marishka in her own way.”

Allison nodded quietly, smiling. “There’s nothing wrong with what you are, Cap– Doctor Julien. Sorry, force of habit,” she said with a wink. Something about the way she spoke made it seem as though she hadn’t said what she had by accident.

His trademark smile and dimple returned. “Four ex-Genny crew members, reunited.” he said and winked. Then he looked serious again

“What did Stark say to you?” he asked. Because he was serious, he would sooner die than let anything happen to them. In his heart, they were still Genesis. Despite the fact that he liked the Athena and her crew a lot, it was Ghubari’s family, not his. Could it ever be? Could he ever feel so close a group of people again that much?

Allison tilted her head slightly, reaching into her recent memories, then opened her mouth and began to speak. Her voice sounded strange, a close imitation to Stark’s voice.

“‘I’ve been looking forward to meeting you Allison. I do love a good mystery.’ When I told him I wasn’t interested in talking about my past, he said, ‘Your past is an open book, Allison, as you say. No, my curiosity lies with your future. Someone who has come from where you have come and experienced what you have experienced is different, unique, a flower of a different breed. My curiosity lies with who you are becoming and if I may be candid and bold, I feel privileged to be a part of that future and to be able to watch it unfold.’ I’m a ‘flower of a different breed,’ apparently.” She was a bit worked up, angered again, but calmed herself.

Interesting, Julien thought. He hadn’t known Stark long, but he thought he knew the Caitian well enough to know that there was always a purpose with everything he did and how he did it.

“I told him, in no uncertain terms, that he could shove off,” she said with a small huff. “The only man who’s allowed to call me a flower is Rovan, not some stranger who seems to think I want to be studied or watched like wildlife…” She leaned against the wall after pacing a few moments.

Julien let out a chuckle, his grin back on. “Good for you! I’ve gotten to know Stark a little already, while I think his care for the crew is honest, he clearly also has his own agenda and I get the feeling he likes to mess a bit with people’s minds, not in a harmful way, mind you. He’s a typical CIO though, casting out his nets. Not unlike our dear Marishka I have to admit.” he said, still smiling. There was a bit of irony to it.

“I’m glad you’re here. And Marishka. I’ll have to see her at some point…” Allison said softly, sitting on the biobed.

He nodded. “Well, she’s already redecorated, re-named and turned the lounge over, taking full charge of it, making it her laboratory where she studies the crew on her own turns. And sure as hell, she’s holding my heart in her hand again.” he remembered their first meeting after 6 months and had to look away from Ally with a secret smile he couldn’t quite hide. It was all too obvious he was sure, but he didn’t care that Ally could probably read him like a book right now. He didn’t try to hide the light blush in his left cheek as the recollection sped up his pulse just a little.

“I believe indeed she never let go of it.” he added.

Allison tilted her head slightly, then took a soft breath. “I have some other check-ins to get through with, so I’m going to head out now, if you’ve determined that I have a clean bill of health?” she asked, looking Julien in the eyes.

OOC: it’s Allie, not Ally…

He gave a nod. “Yes of course. Go ahead now, you know where to find me if you need me, and please remember…” he pointed at himself “Dr Julien Smith.” he said and winked.

“Smith? Could you have chosen a more stereotypical last name?” She teased, standing up and stepping over to give him another hug. “I’ll see you around, Doctor. We’ll have to create a friendship as Smith and Fleet, I don’t know if I can pretend I don’t know you,” she smiled slightly.

He chuckled as he hugged her back. “Indeed we shall. I was thinking of inviting you and Rovan for a dinner one of these days. Maybe Marishka could arrange for some privacy, that would be fun.” he said as he released the door lock and the added security.
