Ghubari nodded. “Alright. I’ll give my permission for you to add this technique to your processes if your patients are willing. If they have all the information and agree, I see no reason to not proceed. Just, keep me informed on the situation. PTSD is a rather insidious condition for active duty personnel and we can’t guarantee our next assignment will be… easier. Make sure anyone who flags with potential symptoms gets at least an evaluation and if they refuse or it is serious enough to affect their ability to be on duty, make sure to notify their department head.”

Laraan nodded. “Yes Captain. One thing though… just how are we supposed to convince some very resistant crewmembers to even have an evaluation?” she asked.

  • Laraan, CNS

Ghubari was actually surprised, and amused. “Why Laraan, surely every counsellor is prepared to play hardball when it comes to necessary evaluations,” she said with a gleam in her pale amber eyes. “I’ll help you out though and distribute a memo to all the department heads to brief their teams about the possibility of Counselling doing
assessments in the aftermath of our last mission. How you convince people you identify, well, that’s up to you, but I’ve rarely met a strong therapist not willing to take someone off duty until they complied, and few officers would suffer such an embarrassment. What I can’t guarantee you is their cooperation in sessions. That’ll be up to you,” she said, glancing between Laraan and Janna.

Laraan nodded. “Well, I guess I’ll start with the greatest challenge then. I can’t let him evade me forever.” she said omniously.

Janna smirked. “Oh, I have ways,” she said with a slow nod. She looked at Laraan. “We can go through the list and see who’s overdue and divide and conquer from there.”

Shifting her attention to Ghubari for a moment, Kingston took a moment to take in the woman. She hadn’t interacted much with the captain thus far, but there if there was anything that was generally true about commanding officers, it’s that all have a distinct presence and Ghubari Koraia’s was strong. Even intimidating. But in this moment here with Laraan there was nothing but the sense that Ghubari was engaged with members of her team. For the moment, Janna just filed that observation away. “I do think that we need some morale boosting activities. The promotions party was good, but not everyone does well in those situations. Having some regular outlets or at least reminding people that having an outlet that is productive is a good idea would be useful.”

“I’ll leave that to your discretion as well. We’ve got plenty of recreational space, so we might as well make the most of it,” Koraia said with a nod.

“Anything else?” Ghubari asked Laraan.

Laraan had to chuckle. “Sorry I just imagined a competitive triathlon. Problem is our crew is so diverse, the odds would most definetly not be the same. However, it would be kinda funny to see Stark soaking wet.” she said. “I mean I have, obviously and it is.... I had to take a dive and laugh under water.”
