A shocked cry died strangled in her throat and Janna backed up. Having breached the forcefield, she new there was nothing she could do to stop what seemed to be inevitable, but damned if she was going to go easily. “Let’s get out of here,” she told her panther friend and moved as swiftly as she dared in the opposite direction.

As she turned around, the corridor behind her appeared to extend straight ahead then turn to the right. The Panther stayed behind her, occasionally turning to hiss at the advancing Borg. As she rounded the corner, it became more evident that she was on a Borg ship. She didn’t see any additional drones yet, but Borg Stark and Orvos continued to advance while seeming to keep up.

Once she turned the corner about 10 meters down, hallway appeared to branch off into three directions, Left, center and right. From the left side came the distant sounds of battle. She heard muffled battle cries and the screams of the wounded and frightened.

In the center path, she felt a cool breeze and could see, distantly a slow flashing yellow light.

To the right side she could smell alcohol and heard what sounded like distant party. She heard the sound of music and could hear people laughing and otherwise carrying on.

Visually, the haze made it difficult to make out what was farther then a few meters down each path. The borg ship seemed to follow along the walls, alcoves, drones regenerating and other Borg technology seemed to be everywhere. The Panther stood behind Janna, she seemed to be guarding her while she made a choice on what way to go.

“Well, Toto, we’re not in Kansas anymore,” Janna muttered. There were no good options here and it was becoming evidently clear as time went on that nothing here was what it seemed. Yes, it appeared to be a Borg ship, but the rest of it didn’t fit and she didn’t trust any of it. With an exhale, she veered to the right and headed towards the party.

As they headed down the corridor towards the sounds of the party, the panther stopped and seemed to relieve himself on a nearby bulkhead before catching up to Janna. The sound of the approaching Borg behind her seemed to get softer as they advanced.
