Karina’s hands were already flying over the table. “Yes… get surgery trays 2 and 6. Then get the portable sterilizer. I won’t be able to stop the manual removal for more than 30 seconds or so before it ruptures something.” She was already glancing at the over body scanner as she continued to manually remove the multiplying matter with her hand held tools. It would take a moment for the computer to take over, prep the patient’s body then begin its own removal. “Once we do what we can, I’ll turn him over to the system… but not until.”

Shot nodded and went straight to work. With another nurse the work was done quickly and professionally, a well trained and perfectly executed manouver.

She was aware of the nurse moving around the room but ignored him. She used the lazer to cut another drain hole in the man’s side and then went back to trying to find the source. =^=Computer… Prepare surgical calibration for foreign material removal. Trace organism origin to most likely source. Also, extrapolate possible source of condition’s cause. Use personal logs, quarters’ scanners, and replicator logs as well as any other movements of patient for last 24 hours.=^=

Finding a way to stop it was one thing, but finding how it started was another. She couldn’t handle an outbreak if more than one other person came down with this ailment.

Nurse Shots

The medical scanner was showing an impossibility but it in itself was not calibrated to discern the source. The surgery was removing the offending matter and Ceres stats were rising but the mystery remained exactly that, a mystery, and until the mystery was solved the matter would keep replicating in the foreseeable future.

OOC Time to get the science team in folks :-)

((Ppptthhhh… Was writing post to science and CO hehehe ..M))

Karina was growling under her breath. Soon as she she maintain the removal without it overrunning her, she called, =^=Medical to science lab… Need some help up here. I have an anomaly and need life saving help ASAP!=^=

She gave a quick report and had the computer link to science. No point in sending up a rock specialist when she needed a biologist… She hoped.

=^=Madison here, I’m on my way now.=^=

Her next call was to the captain. =^=Captain… I think you need to get to medical. We have a situation you need to know about.=^=

Her voice, while relatively calm, definitely had an edge to it.

=/\=I’m on my way. Koraia out,=/\= came the immediate reply.

Fl. Captain Koraia, CO

OOC: I figured I check if it’s all right to bring Liam in here before posting a reply. It is easier to have everyone in one thread than information passed between two and Liam is all alone in the other one. If not, I’ll edit.

OOC Please feel free to make decisions and go where you please. It’s my job to respond to you rather than dictate your comings and goings :-) Whether you communicate by comms or by going to the place directly I can roll with it. Ian

((Accidentally posted in science… Then removed it and putting it here… Part above this if you wish… Of course… Meli))

The doors didn’t have time to swoosh shut behind Liam before Karina’s voice echoed across the nearly vacant bay. “If I didn’t know any better, I’d say he ate a replicator program.” She paused and looked up with a smile. “I’d stay away from the ice cream.”

She looked back down and the bio bed scanner would show her barely keeping ahead of bio matter that continuously replicated from a single point which was and was not there. “I just can’t figure out what’s causing it or how to stop it. Help would be greatly appreciated.” While the final comment hadn’t necessarily been aimed at the scientist, the pleading in her voice made it obvious that this was more than a symbolic request for help.
