Karina was growling under her breath. Soon as she she maintain the removal without it overrunning her, she called, =^=Medical to science lab… Need some help up here. I have an anomaly and need life saving help ASAP!=^=

She gave a quick report and had the computer link to science. No point in sending up a rock specialist when she needed a biologist… She hoped.

=^=Madison here, I’m on my way now.=^=

Her next call was to the captain. =^=Captain… I think you need to get to medical. We have a situation you need to know about.=^=

Her voice, while relatively calm, definitely had an edge to it.

=/\=I’m on my way. Koraia out,=/\= came the immediate reply.

OOC: I figured I check if it’s all right to bring Liam in here before posting a reply. It is easier to have everyone in one thread than information passed between two and Liam is all alone in the other one. If not, I’ll edit.

OOC Please feel free to make decisions and go where you please. It’s my job to respond to you rather than dictate your comings and goings :-) Whether you communicate by comms or by going to the place directly I can roll with it. Ian

((Accidentally posted in science… Then removed it and putting it here… Part above this if you wish… Of course… Meli))

The doors didn’t have time to swoosh shut behind Liam before Karina’s voice echoed across the nearly vacant bay. “If I didn’t know any better, I’d say he ate a replicator program.” She paused and looked up with a smile. “I’d stay away from the ice cream.”

She looked back down and the bio bed scanner would show her barely keeping ahead of bio matter that continuously replicated from a single point which was and was not there. “I just can’t figure out what’s causing it or how to stop it. Help would be greatly appreciated.” While the final comment hadn’t necessarily been aimed at the scientist, the pleading in her voice made it obvious that this was more than a symbolic request for help.

A moment later, the captain stepped in, her eyes sweeping the room and her mind assessing the mood. “Report,” she said simply.

Liam went right to work. His hands snatched a pair of gloves nearby and snapped them on, a precautionary action. As he drew near, his voice replied to the comment shot earlier.

“Noted. I’m taking a sample to compare it to our replicator food. If there are any notable differences, it should show.” Liam said this just after the Captain entered the room.

His figure took a small sample of the foreign matter to a microscope. There he took a smear and slipped it into the computer, letting the machine scan it.

“Computer, run a scan on the molecular structure. Then compare it to a sample from a few days ago,” Liam ordered then turned to the CO.

He saved the Doctor time by relaying what he knew.

“It seems a patient is experiencing foreign material in their body, the origin unknown. The Doctor said it’s as if he ate a replicator program. Right now, I’m examining the molecules of the sample. She’s trying to keep him alive until we find a solution.”

He paused to glance at the computer, then resumed with his opinion.

“For now, it might be best to quarantine the replicator and contact Engineering. It’s better safe than sorry.”

Ghubari received a quick text message from her XO. =^=Received call from planetside. Warning of a possible Mirror agent infiltrating our crew. Be wary.=^=

Checking the ping, a slew of curses filtered through her mind before focused back on Madison and Niles. “What do you mean, ‘ate a replicator program’? How does that create foreign material in a person’s body?” Koraia asked, trying to follow what must have seemed obvious to them but ot her felt liek she was missing a key component of this situation.

The scan of the biomatter taken from the now unconscious Ensign Ceres flashed up with a preliminary analysis. The protein molecules within the original dessert were paired with identical protein molecules that were showing a faint energy signature that would need further scans to identify. However, no more matter was being introduced into the system at the time of the scan.

Suddenly the medical scanners sounded an alarm and Ceres started to convulse on the bed. A red patch showed on the monitor as a part of Ceres left kidney simply disappeared, another red patch started to show on the monitor as part of his small intestine also vanished. The science tricorder picked up the same faint energy signature at both points of Ceres body that was showing on the sample taken.

Whenever a department head and/or Captain was informed of any situation in Sickbay it was also time to wake the Chief Medical Officer, this was the second time in the short time he’d served on the Athen that he’d been disturbed during his nightcap and once again he forwent the time-consuming ritual of getting dressed into his uniform and simply grabbed one of his multiple white coats and ran out. For some reason getting the message to him took longer, no doubt due to the extraordinary circumstances of the case at hand. On the way, he read a PaDD with the relevant information.

As the alarms started ringing the doors swooshed open revealing the tall thin Doctor. He took a moment to scan the room with intense green eyes before moving in “I thought I said no pomp necessary every time I enter a bloody room” He said without smiling. He half jogged to the scene, reading over the information “Good work Doctor Niles, This is your patient so prescribe what is necessary but I think we’ll need to cut him open and put him on emergency dialysis, we don’t want to start replacing body parts until we know what’s going on. ” He said starting work quickly before even looking towards the Captain and CSO “Any ideas on that front Madison?” He asked as he started prepping allowing Karina to take care of medicating and holding the Patient.
