Side Sim - Marishka's Office (Tag: Julien)

With his other free arm he just about reached the pocket of his slacks and pulled out what looked like one single pip.
“You’re not wearing a uniform but I’m sure you’ll find a way to conceal it and wear it on you always. Orvos made it. He chipped me - on request of course. The chip in me triggeres a fake com message so I can get out of situations which threaten to blow my cover. And this chip..” he handed her the pip “…allows you to open a hidden com frequency to me and talk to me, I’ll hear it in my head only.
There are five of those that I gave to Orvos, S’Raal, Stark and Ghubari. Don’t ask me where Orvos has such advanced tech from. The man is an enigma in an enigma, like most El Aurians.”

Marishka took the pip and examined it. She would figure out a way to put it in the ensemble of jewelry that had become a part of the costume or, perhaps, something even more interesting. Thinks like this were not unknown to her being in Intel as she was. That was probably a part of her personality that would never change. At that moment it would be a good thing for both of them.

“Don’t worry, you’ll never know it’s there. I can be quite enigmatic myself. And as for Orvos, I don’t know if he bears watching or staying away from but, if you trust him that much…” she said with a smile.

Julien sighed. “I hope you’re right. I have no clue about the full functionality of that chip he put in me. A tiny detail he neglected to mention until after it was integrated into my system.”

  • Julien

Marishka didn’t like that one bit.

“I don’t know about that. You should always have confidence in the thing someone is putting in your body. Perhaps we should run some tests of our own.” she said with concern.

Marishka hadn’t decided exactly where to put the unit Julien had given her but she would have to change it’s outward appearance no matter what.

  • Marishka

He nodded and gave a low chuckle. “You’re right. I find it kind of amazing that after all that has happened to me already, I still tend to subconsciously want to trust people and see the best in them.” he mused.

  • Julien

Marishka reluctantly removed herself from Julien’s grasp and walked across the small room. With her back to him, she worked at one of the replicators for a minute, stood up very straight, and hissed an outgoing breath before turning around to reveal exactly what she had done with her special comm unit.

She had delicately placed it in what would appear to be an hourglass shaped ruby hanging from a small platinum ring and pierced her navel with it.

“I love your trusting nature but I just hope you don’t end up trusting the wrong people. I would really hate to have to hurt someone for betraying you.” she said with a wide smile.

Striding back across the floor she curled up with him again.

  • Marishka

He gave a deep chuckle. “Likewise.” he said. When she rejoined him he bent down to inspect the piercing. “Looks really good. Can’t wait to try if it works.”
It had gotten late and her secret office was no place to sleep. He gave a sigh.
“I will miss not sharing quarters with you.” he said.

  • Julien

Marishka scowled and shook her head. She felt like asking who’s fault that was but it might not come across as humor so she left it.

“Well then my… Healer. My warrior, my partner. Do what I asked you here for. Fix my throat. And as for sharing quarters, just another good reason for us to get to know each other out there.” she said motioning to the ship at large.

  • Marishka

Julien gave a laugh. “Oh that was real! Oh well then..” he chuckled and got out his med scanner, scanning her graceful throat. “Your wish is my command.”

He followed the motion of her hand with his eyes. “Hm, you’re giving the Diva you said? I take it that means a lot of professional flirting.” he said, but smiled, letting her know that he understood. He trusted her, always had, but not himself. He had never been fully able to keep his possessive instincts under control.

Marishka stayed still as Julien finally performed the exam.

“I have to give the customers what they want and come on, these pheromones and this body? I think it would be pretty obvious don’t you?”

He gave her a naughty smile and nodded.

Marishka smiled and her silver eyes met Julien’s.

“There are some lines I’m not fond of crossing so I won’t. But people find that very hard to believe and that’s not my problem.”

There was a wicked gleam in her eyes as she spoke. This was going to be a balancing act that Marishka hadn’t performed in quite a long time. She had never loved anyone like Julien and had to work with them under such circumstances before, but there was just enough hope in her to think that, somehow, they could have it all.

“Well here’s to messy and complicated.”

  • Marishka

“Complicated yes, but it needn’t be messy. And if somebody has too many troubles with believing you, and you can’t break your cover by beating him to a bloody ball of pulp, just let me know love. I can’t break my cover either, but I know ways around it.”

  • Julien

Marishka returned his smile with a mischievous one of her own.

“Oh but people like to talk when they think they’re in trouble. Either that or they say nothing at all. Either way, I think I’ve got this.”

She paused for a moment and looked rather serious.

“I know you’ve never seen me work like this before but I think you trust me as much as I trust you. But now that you’ve given me this comm unit, I feel a little better.” she said.

  • Marishka

He tenderly traced the fine lines on her forehead with a finger and caressed her cheek. “We do what we have to do as officers. I understand that, I’ve learned to live with it and accept it. This goes both ways after all. As long as we are open with each other, we can still be happy together, even if, for now, it has to happen in the shadows.”

Then his smile returned. “And even if I kill a few people gruesomely in my head only when I see them feeling you up.”

  • Julien

Marishka smiled and moved closer to him.

“Mmm. Be careful. I like shadows. I just have one more question. How are you going to explain my little piece of jewelry and to whom?” she paused and laughed lightly, that was two questions after all.

  • Marishka

“Nobody will recognise it for what it is and I’ve already told Orvos, Stark and S’Raal that one of the five is for you. So they know you are more to me than just any random crew member and that you have my trust. I’m positive Stark knows about us, it is easy for him to trace our real past and true identities, but I trust him implicitly, he is Ghubi’s soulbrother or something such.” he said.
