Using both hands spread equally at either side of the centre third of the staff, she countered his attacks with focus. “Oh, I don’t know about that. You can have all the experience in the galaxy and still have someone knock you on your ass. A little humility is never a bad thing. Except for maybe the bruised ego part. But you get over it,” she said as she shifted suddenly to the side and moved to slip her bō under his guard. The intent was to get into the circle of his arms and spin him forward towards the floor. He could still block her, but once she got the staff in, he was SOL and his only defence would be to drop his weapon and protect his landing, execute a very quick roll, or try to take her with him. But she lowered her centre of gravity so that would be harder. Still, he could surprise her.

Conner’s sword was indeed taken from him partially as he spun, he held onto it one handed and used the wooden sword to strike at the bone in her right ankle in a quick powerful blow. He landed and rolling up to the balls of his feet pivoted sweeping his heel backwards into the foot he hadn’t hit.

He was very lucky that she no longer had her prothesis. On the other hand, he’d have initially only hit metal and it would have hurt a lot less! She grunted slightly and pushed the pain out of her mind as she focused on countering his motion. Ghubari side-stepped before he could fully hit his mark and swung her bō towards his middle aiming for his ribs.
