“Not that bold of a question,” Koraia said openly. “Almost nine years. Four years on the previous Athena and nearly five on this ship” Standing slightly upright, the captain actually looked momentarily stunned. “Huh, wow. I really hadn’t realized we’d been on this ship so long.” Still feels like yesterday. Watching her ship explode wasn’t something she ever wanted to witness again. The once was more than enough.

Conner watched her and took another drink. “That’s a a long time, I bet you have managed to forge some really great connections with your crew,” he said honestly, in an almost admiring tone. The nature of his career point was shorter assignments where you didn’t know the people as well as they maybe knew one another and that was the way of things.
“I have. Though it was easier on the old ship. The previous Athena only had one hundred people on board so I knew any crew member at a glance. Now, it’s rather difficult. I won’t ever know everyone. It’s just not possible.”
He stretched again, “around two?” He asked.

Ghubari nodded and took a large swig of water before setting it to the side. Slipping her hand along the bō, she dragged it slightly until she reached a good spot on the mat and swung the staff upwards, catching it easily in her other hand. “Do you live dangerously, Cadet?” Koraia asked, a gleam slipping into her gaze.
