Barclay steepled his fingers in front of his face and continued =/\=All we have for you is that someone left this planet in a small cloaked vessel and when your team came down to the planet they slipped into the cargo bay. The only reason we know that… =/\= Barclay squirmed uncomfortably at this point, =/\= is because we have a tracking beacon on it because it just so happens that it’s our ship that they took. If you’d allow me on board I could probably glean more from the internal sensors on our vessel as to who it was that took it, as for now all I can tell you is that you have a cloaked vessel in your shuttlebay and an unknown person roaming your ship that I am assuming looks like they are supposed to be there due to the fact that no alarm has been raised at your end =/\= Barclay’s face was a little flushed and embarrassed. =/\= I really would like to get our ship back =/\=.

She put her arms down and used her URI out of sight of the comm call with Barclay to type a quick message to Ghubari. =^=Received call from planetside. Warning of a possible Mirror agent infiltrating our crew. Be wary.=^= As a bit of an afterthought, she CCed R’han and added an ask for him to confer with the security and science officers on deck.

Luka, XO

R’han responded that would be virtually impossible we have sensors set on transporter detection. That would mean they either, beamed in with the diplomatic team, which would demonstrate incredible lack of security for a paranoid race, or they boarded by manual means

R’han executed a scan of the hull, and then a procedural scan of the docking ports. They either cut their way in which he could see or over-rode a port which he would discover
.

OOC: I’m not helping because in game, you took this call privately. Luke

Junior Gamemaster Conspiracy Theorist

Luka nodded quietly. =^=I will get back to you on that. Please hold=^=

She closed the call, then summoned Cmdr. R’han to the briefing room.

Luka, XO

R’han came in talking, “I’m executing scans of the logical means of entry. We can start doing the math, you can’t be replaced by your duplicate if you see two of each person. So that eliminates some personnel immediately. This was always a danger. If we were alerted to the transfer across universes we could have set up a code so we can identify each other prior to coming… but everyone wants to keep their secrets.”

R’han CTO

The scan came back negative on all counts with no signs of forced entry. The only anomaly that showed was during their away team’s departure where the forcefield was disrupted for a further 1.42 seconds after their shuttle had cleared the bay.

Junior Gamemaster Conspiracy Theorist

R’han didn’t believe in coincidences… “I think someone squeezed through the shuttle bay force field.” He thought, “They would have to be using a cloaking or mimicking tech so not be be seen and get so close to the ship.” He thought to himself aloud. “Not much time has passed, it is possible our person has not been eliminated by his or her mirror counterpart. We could order general quarters and have everyone buddy up… ”

R’han

Luka explained the whole situation to the CTO. “The call was from an individual known as Barclay. He has said basically what you just told me. Someone in a cloaked shuttle came into our shuttle bay and got out, and is now going around our ship unattended. Tell me, do Starfleet shuttle bays have visual surveillance? Our uninvited guest may have come in cloaked, but he cannot have left that shuttle without becoming visible at some point. As far as I am aware, there is no such thing as a personal cloaking device… Barclay wishes access to our sensors in order to better tell who stole it, and the fact that they are trusting our people in the planet makes me a little more willing to trust him, but at the same time I am reticent to do so…”

Luka, XO

“Absolutely, but cloaked ships are invisible to the eye as well as to sensors.” R’han tapped a few keys and all the shuttle bays came on to the view screen the the office and spun backwards at 10x to review the time in question.

“What is problematic is the opening of the doors and hatches. Perhaps give the narrow time frame we can see which hatch or door opened without a ‘visible’ person manipulating it. Then we can do a background DNA scan… or fingerprints and voila our alternate person will be identified.” R’han smirked. He was almost as smart as he thought he was.

R’han

“Genetics may be the same, but fingerprints should be different. My species does not have those,” she lifted her furry hands as if to prove her point, “but I have read that genetically identical twins have different fingerprints, so Mirror Universe individuals should, similarly, have different fingerprints… Which brings us back to this Barclay individual. You are my Tactical officer. What is your opinion? How do you believe we should proceed in that regard?’

Luka, XO

“We lose nothing by being cautious. Taking the information and using it, is far different than trusting the giver of that information. So the short answer is no… I don’t trust this Barclay fellow. ” He typed a few button on a PaDD

“The computer record indicates that our Barclay is a calm, passive, even paralyzed with fear sort of fellow. Which implys his mirror alternate is the reverse… i certain would not trust what this mirror Barclay is up to.”

The playback of the shuttle bay showed two things. The first was an accidentally dropped tool on the floor that suddenly disappeared as the ship landed on it. The second was the back view of an individual with long blonde hair who quickly left the bay into the adjoining corridor.

Junior Gamemaster Conspiracy Theorist

=^=Computer starting from hall 214 and cycling outwards, give me a bio track on everyone moving at time stamp 12:31 hours. Correlate with long blond hair, humanoids.=^=

R’han looked at Luka. “This shouldn’t even take a minute.”

R’han

The XO nodded slightly. “We have seen your duplicate, it makes me wonder who I might be in this mirror world,” she reflected as they waited.

“I agree with your assessment of Barclay. Until we know for certain that he can be trusted, I will not give him access to the Athena. Especially not without Ghubari’s knowledge. I know an XO is supposed to be the exciting one who goes headfirst into all the dangerous situations, but I would rather not send my crew into danger if there is a safer option that works just as well or better than the one that results in deaths,” she added.

Luka, XO

“Well he’s not a blond… thank god. I don’t think I could pull that off… ” R’han rubbed his chin. “Maybe an ‘evil’ goatee…”

The computer chose this moment to speak. =/\= There are three individuals who match your search parameters. Presently one is at the warp core, second level, one is in Sickbay One and the other is on the corridor outside the Main Conference Room =/\=.

Junior Gamemaster Conspiracy Theorist

=^=Give me live feeds on all three.=^= R’han ordered the computer.

=^=Security can I get a team to the warp core immediately. Do not make a spectacle of yourself… covertness is a key.=^= R’han didn’t wait for orders. It wouldn’t take long to sabotage the ship from the warp core. The other two area they could watch a little longer to see what their plan might be.

R’ahn

Luka was quiet, tilting her head slightly to watch. R’han was skilled at this intelligence thing. “Are any of the blondes the same person?” she asked, looking at the video feed and attempting to pick out the characteristics that set humans apart from one another.

Luka, XO

The live feeds came to life on a split screen in front of them. In engineering, there was the back view of someone with long ash blonde hair working on a console. In sickbay, a similar hair-style showed the face of Ensign Tanner a well-known doctor. The corridor of the Main Conference Room showed the face of Kaylee Baxter.

Junior Gamemaster Conspiracy Theorist

“Hmm,” R’han said. =^=Computer activate the audio for the cameras indicated. Route the system fuctions of engineer console to this station.=^= R’han wasn’t an engineer but he could read what the person was trying to do.

R’han

The console was running a standard diagnostic on the warp coils. The person in question was quietly singing, “Hi, ho, hi, ho, it’s diagnosting I will go” Someone nearby started laughing and snorting like a camel with a serious disease.

“While you check out the one in engineering, I will check on Baxter. I doubt Ensign Tanner can do much damage in the med bay,” Luka said. “In the meantime, can I leave you in charge of the bridge?

“I’d take a security officer. Our Baxter is a pushover, combat speaking, which means this one probably can cut your throat out, drink the blood and still look like a cupie doll.”

R’han

As they were speaking there was a flash of energy in the corridor outside the conference room as Kaylee used a wrist device to short the panel and cause an overload. She leapt through the door and there was the sound of two phaser shots and then silence. The computer automatically transferred the feed inside the room where they saw that *Kaylee was standing with a disruptor pointing at Iliana Ghemor a look of intense hatred in her eyes.
