<snip>Eddington nodded seemingly spent by his revelations. Rhan picked up the dialogue, “The only diplomacy we’ve had up until now came through violence and manipulation. The Cardassians and Klingons have been routed but they’re still out there and becoming more organized every day. However, the Gorns, Tholians, and Breen only worked together while the threat from the Alliance remained, now that the Alliance has been routed the Taurus Pact is starting to fall apart with the Tholians wanting to achieve dominance over the other two factions. The Romulans were with the Terran Rebellion throughout the rout but now they too are seeking a controlling influence. To date, only the superior firepower of Memory Omega and their wormhole drive ships have held us together”.

Before he could continue there was a chime at the door.

Laraan was about to ask more about that new revelation of a memory omega and their wormhole when the chime sounded. She didn’t want to disrupt the conversation when it had just became interesting, nodded at Kaylee to continue and got up, going over to the door to check who had chimed without disturbing the talks.
- Laraan, CNS
The door chimed and Isabel put her hand on her phaser as a precaution. She hadn’t heard from the Security outside the door, but one never knew. Duplicates of the crew were apparently around.
Kaylee returned the nod. “I’m not sure I’m familiar with Memory Omega or the wormhole ships,” She said. “Perhaps you could enlighten us on those a bit more.”
As Laraan approached the door there was the sound of an electrical surge and the door flew open. A blonde-haired, blue-eyed whirlwind knocked Laraan aside and leveled a wicked-looking disruptor at the inhabitants of the room seeking her target. Kaylee’s face was a mask of concentration and unrestrained hatred.

Instinctively, at the sound and the flash of the door being blasted open, Kaylee let out a short scream mostly from being startled by the explosive interruption.
But at seeing her own mirror image bearing down on them, she froze in her chair, her hands gripping the arms of her seat so tightly her knuckles started turning white.

Laraan had long since learned that understatement was her friend. So as she was toppled over she stayed down, faking the helpless terrified small female, cowering in the corner next to the door where she landed while silently trying to assess the situation and gathering energy from around her as she did so. To see two Kaylees shouldn’t have been such a shocker after their recent adventure - but it still was. More so, the pure hatred in the strange Kaylee’s eyes was, an expression she had never seen at their own Kaylee and one that looked totally alien to Laraan.

Isabel flinched as the door flew open, but her reaction was swift. The instincts of a lifetime of learning how to properly react in emergency or shocking situations, fueled her movements. She knew the Kaylee in the doorway could not be the Kaylee that had been talking at the conference table. She immediately drew and fired her Phaser, set to stun, at the intruder as many times as necessary to hit her target.
Delaney, Security
The first shot found it’s mark but dissipated across the woman’s standard Starfleet issue uniform, looking closely it was obvious that there was a black jumpsuit like material underneath. Kaylee adroitly sidestepped the next shot while bringing her own weapon to bear on someone else in the room. Out of the side of her mouth, she addressed Delaney. “I can take a number more of those shots, my dear, not sure how many, but you need to know that I’m on the clock and if I don’t finish my task and return to my partner by a designated time your ship is going to blow up, we have a bomb on board. So be a darling and toss your weapon left-handed over by the window or I might be forced to do something drastic”.

“What task is that?” Kaylee finally found her voice again, even though it came out a bit squeaky at first. She cleared her throat. “Who is your partner and why would you put countless innocent lives in danger?” The questions in her head came out audibly in a rush, and she told herself to pause and take a deep breath. She exhaled slowly, looking at her own mirror image, waiting for any answers or to see what her next move would be.
