I don’t intend to let anyone do that, she reassured. And this isn’t so much payback, but doing our best to negate a threat. Normally, they’d just send in a team, or an agent and call it a day, but Price was Starfleet. And he has this strange connection to my past. I know Command is simply indulging me, but they owe me so I’ll take it right now. Kallen deserved better and if we can help take down The Conclave, then that’s what we’re going to do.
But here’s the hard part for you, Ral. I need you to do nothing. Pretend nothing is going on and ignore anything we’re doing that seems in anyway odd, if we happen to tip our hand. We need this to stay under the radar, and the Chief of Security can’t be seen poking about. Can you do that?

I can do that, it isn’t my first time keeping secrets on this ship. We seem to be having far more than your average ship of secrets. Konral said, the Athena seemed to always be in the front of everything the fleet could throw at them.

She snorted. You’re telling me, she said with a weary sigh before leaning her head on his shoulder. It’s exhausting Konral, and I want this piece to be over. But I can’t give up on Price and the Conclave, for no other reason than Kallen. She deserved so much better than to be tossed aside when she got in the way.

I agree, do we have plans? What do you need of me and my time? Konral asked her. He needed to help, not just as COS but also as her husband. He found a way to keep both separate most times.

She shook her head. I don’t know. I really don’t. Right now I’m just trying to sort out what’s what. Other than not acting on oddities you witness, just let me know if anything concerns you. And when I have a better idea of what the plan is, I’ll let you know where you can help. I just wanted to make sure you were in the loop on this in case…no, when things get dicey.
