“Your…jabs were effective,” Madison growled under his breath, trying to tame his temper.

His arms pulled into his lap and his eyes closed. He tried to block out everything in a form of mediation, but he felt the creature’s restless energy. Its chaotic emotions flooded into his calm ones, ruining the peace he gained.

“Grey, can you flood the compartment with radiation?”

His hands began to sizzle at the clothing he wore now.

“Copy” Ben answered as he entered the commands to flood the holographic chamber. The program was already set with the specific parameters to bypass the safety concerns due to the extenuating circumstances. Instinctively he wanted to grab a vial of Hyronalin for safe measure but for this particular situation it would be a moot point.

When the radiation filled the compartment, the creature sensed it. After a small fit, it began to settle down once more. The lack of thrashing under his skin gave Liam enough time to stop the heat production. His clothes still showed the charred holes left behind, but his modesty was safe.

“Grey,” Liam began.

“It would be in the best interest of everyone if we came back to this later. I need to learn to control this, but I feel we need… better safety measures first. What’s the next test?” he asked in a much calmer and exhausted voice.

Readings indicated the temperature had dropped back to tolerable conditions.

OOC: Bump round two, lol.

OOC: Sorry I was certain I had already responded to this.

Benjamin dropped in his seat, placing his head between his hands and sighing audibly “You know when I woke up this mornin’ I dinnae expect tah be radiating a fellow officer to calm down his spine buddy” he cleared his throat and his accent went softer once more “I’m not certain, I wasn’t expecting such a drastic reaction from our friend there. I would like to take some samples of your internal organs for testing, I’m curious how the creature changed your body to survive radiation levels of this magnitude. I had several more stress tests planned but I agree that we should shelve them for now.”

Dr. Grey - CMO

“Welcome to the Athena, I honestly didn’t expect you would’ve upset me to the point I needed it. ” Liam countered, holding off the sarcasm in his mind.

It wasn’t Grey’s fault. It was their failure to factor in the creature’s independent reaction and now they learned from it. Mainly to keep radiation on hand for future issues.

“It might be a good idea to keep the radiation ready for future irritations. There’s still a lot of knowledge we haven’t discovered. Especially when it comes to its behavior.”

He took a breath then continued.

“We’ve been focusing on its anatomy in hopes to remove it, but with little success. Surgery, as I’m sure you’re aware, is going to both cripple and kill me. The radiation the creature absorbs both fuels and makes other forms of removal difficult.”

Liam thought for a moment and suggested something. “I suggest keeping the radiation on when you take the samples. The creature does have a healing factor so you’ll have to be quick. The radiation will likely keep it calm.”
