Ireland boasted some of the best whiskey one could ever have and her family had long been in the business of making that very thing. On her previous ship, Izzy had only ever had the opportunity to drink with the Captain when her shipment of whiskey had come from her mother with the year’s bottles. Here though, she hoped she could share on a different level. There was an actual Lounge manager and this was a significantly bigger ship. With this in mind, she entered the lounge even though the night was late. Her shift had been a long one that day and the unexpected surprise of her mother’s latest shipment was and wonderful one.

Izzy, dressed in a form fitting, bulky cable knit sweater with a wide neck that hung off one shoulder and leggings tucked into hardy black suede boots, walked in with a case in her hands. Her hair was in its naturally curly state, but down unlike her time on shift. She looked perfectly at ease, even though she was not. There was a sense of nervousness when one is putting oneself out there.

She walked to the bar and decided to wait on Marishka to give her the crate. Izzy placed it on the bar and sat down on a stool.

Delaney, Sec

The nicely dressed man behind the bar recognized Izzy in passing. Since Ted had come to volunteer at the lounge he had gotten to know a lot of people.

“If you’re waiting for the boss, she’ll probably be about five minutes. Sorry. But you’re welcome to pull up a stool. Can I bring you some hors d’oeuvres?” he asked conversationally.

Marishka had always stressed customer service.

  • Ted

She looked up as Ted approached her and smiled politely. She didn’t mind that Marishka was going to be a minute. Izzy was in no hurry. Her shift was done for the day and she had the whole evening to relax. The next day was her day off. “Perfect. I would like Capreze salad and mushroom soup.”

Delaney, Sec

Ted nodded and commed the order in to the kitchen.

“It’ll be right up. And what is this box of loveliness?” he asked tapping the box she brought.

  • Ted

“This,” She said, taking a hold of the box on either side with an expansive gesture of pride. “Is the latest release of my mother’s whiskey. Minus my own personal bottles, I am delivering these to Marishka to do with as she pleases.”

Delaney, Sec

Unbeknownst to Ted and Izzy, Marishka had concluded her in depth behind the curtain conversation with their CO. She had slipped away to leave her glass in the kitchen and picked up Izzy’s order to deliver personally. Word traveled very fast amongst the staff in the lounge, especially when someone showed up with a large box of alcohol.

Making her way to Izzy’s side, in full Grecian garb, Marishka set the order down with a smile.

“Izzy right? So nice to see you this afternoon and what a lovely sweater.” she commented taking a seat beside her.

Kin had sat in silence, simply listening and trying to better understand the social norms, and lack thereof, of her new crewmates. Taking a sip of her drink, Kin looked out the window for a moment and then turned back to the conversations at hand.

Bump

Kin finally took a breath and looked at the assemblage of individuals at the table and smiled and said “I’m sorry for interjecting here, but I have an odd question. Is anyone here allergic to anything?”

Kin, Security JO

Marishka looked at Kin in surprise.

“That is a rather interesting question. Aren’t such things kept on file in sickbay?” she asked.
