“You weren’t there, but I suspect you know about it, but… I had assumed Michail had something to do with it. And so I went to confront him.” Her bit her lower lip, eyes cast downwards. If Kallen hadn’t intervened…” She exhaled abruptly and looked back up at Stark. “I’m not proud of my anger, of how close I came to crossing lines, but I know it’s within me, and I can’t guarantee something similar won’t happen.”

“Then in Kallen’s memory I promise to stop you,” Stark said simply, “I hunted Michail for a decade and he made me cross the line multiple times. I expect better of you,” he smiled a little at the last pronouncement, “What kind of world would it be if we were to both lose our moral compass together, I daresay there wouldn’t be much that would be safe at that point in time so we must guard against it and selfishly I must help you regain your compass so that I can again seek to lose mine and have you stop me as is the natural order of things”.
Somehow, him invoking Kallen in his oath in one breath and then joking about wanting to be able to go off the deep end made the whole situation more insane to her. BUt she smiled with shared amusement.
He sobered and put a paw on her shoulder, “Dada, we will do this together”.

Reaching up, she rested her hand on his paw. “Good. Saves Konral from going entirely insane when he realizes he married a crazy woman,” she joked. “At least with you around, I can avoid needing to give myself time out in the brig.”
She moved her hand and raised a finger. “Though, not necessarily a bad idea when needed. We should keep that as a backup plan.” She was half-joking and even though the thought of them having to do exactly that made her want to laugh, she was serious in them needing to take extra steps if necessary.

“So what now,” he said cracking a knuckle, “sanity stretches with time so the sooner we can get to it, the better. Seems to me that the “A” team is already on board and assembled, what’s the plan?”

“I don’t know,” Ghubari said. She should feel ridiculous for not knowing that, but right now she knew that they needed to go on the offensive. “We need more information. Which our ‘A-team’ as you called them, is in a better position to seek out. We need a lead. Once we have something, then we will at least have a place to start.”
