/\=Why Stark, of course, What else would it be?=/\= she said dryly. =/\=Do we know where we’re supposed to be taking it? Oh! And several people are joining you on the surface. We’re taking off here, so you’ll have to hold the fort, as it were.=/\=

Stark snapped off a quick reply =/\= There’s some kind of receptacle here where it used to be housed, I’m betting this is where we need to put it back. next time the Prophets decide to invade your waking moments how about getting them to give us an instruction manual! Good hunting! =/\=

Koraia snorted. =/\=I’ll keep that in mind,” she said dryly. “Koraia out.=/\=

As the shuttle doors opened, Kaylee cautiously followed Eddington, still a little unsettled by the fact that her mirror counterpart was such a dark figure. She took some solace in the fact that that identity was for the most part a secret.

Stepping down the ramp, Kaylee looked around at her surroundings and raised her eyebrows towards Janna as if to say ‘Here we go’

OOC Note to all, you’re not aware that the two Orvos’ have switched places yet.

Orvos was standing at the base of the ramp waving in Stark and the others including Kallen and K’Ehleyr. He spoke quietly but succinctly, “All the delegates are in the main hall. It was already set up with transporter inhibitors so I’d strongly suggest we get there as soon as possible to avoid… incident”.

Kingston met Kaylee’s gaze with determination. But her attention shifted immediately to the carbon copy of her predecessor. Okay, this was going to be weird. “What the situation in there exactly?” she asked.

Orvos looked at them all. “All the delegations are housed in the main hall but they’re also accusing everyone and everything for causing this mess. the talks hang on a thread and the thread has a name. The Athena is foremost in the conspiracy, they think you’re complicit. Taking you in there, especially Kaylee is going to ignite a powder keg and that’s exactly what we want”.

Eddington spoke up in consternation, “What are you talking about? Are you insane?”

Kallen put a hand on his shoulder. “This is not Athena’s Orvos, it’s ours.”

Eddington reeled back a little and R’han nodded, “She’s right, this man has a scar on the back of his left hand, I know it’s him because I gave it to him years ago”.

Orvos nodded, “Memory Omega has been playing a long con for the last thirteen years and we’re about to spring the trap that will expose a conspiracy that threatens the alliance. We need Kaylee in there not just as a diplomat but simply because it’s going to rattle the delegation that is working with the Cardassians to try and destroy this peace process. I wish I could give you more information and I know this isn’t your fight. If you want, get back into that shuttle and leave us to it. Your arrival has been broadcast to the assembly so the effect is already in motion. There is no need for you to endanger yourselves further.”

Orvos smiled “However, your Orvos told me in no uncertain terms that you people don’t back down from a fight. He proved that by voluntarily stowing away on the vessel that’s headed to Rura Penthe as we speak.” Taking a swift glance around the group he shrugged “Are you in or out? Drinks are on me either way”

“I am game… I guess…” Konral said as he looked over at Stark. He wasn’t sure what they had to loose but this was going to get them closer to their quest and they needed something to work with.

“I’m in,” Stark said as if he was stating the obvious, He turned to Kaylee, “We’ve got your back, shall we go play with frozen mercenaries, gaseous bigots and big lizardy things and change the fate of yet another universe… please”.

Janna didn’t say too much in response, but she did lift her chin slightly and take a step forward, determination written into her features. She was at more risk than the others, should things go wrong, but she knew that that was all a part of her life in Starfleet. Big things were swirling around them and they weren’t going to escape any of it.

Kingston looked at Kaylee. “Well, then, let’s go be diplomats,” she said, a tiny smirk appearing on her face. And then she stepped forward to enter the room where chaos awaited, knowing that the others would have their backs.

Stark followed, eyes everywhere and probably feeling far too eager for a fight.

They entered at the business end of a large circular meeting room filled with close to a hundred seats that were set on a sloping floor in the style of an old opera house so that all could see each other no matter where they were seated. In the hemisphere in front of their current vantage point to the left were the Gorn, central, the Tholians and right the Breen. In the hemisphere they had entered from they found themselves central with the Romulan delegation to their left and bordering the Gorn and to their right the Human Alliance bordering the Breen.

At this point, every delegation was pointedly ignoring each other and speaking animatedly amongst themselves. As the Athena’s representatives entered a sudden hush fell and then when some of them saw Kaylee the noise level began to rise, swiftly.

Orvos pointed out a sophisticated array of equipment installed on the ceiling. “Everything is controlled from there, speak and you’ll be amplified. I’m going to make sure you get a fair hearing from the control booth, plus from there I can be ready when the traitor tips their hand. You’re here to get them all to agree to work against the Cardassians and Klingons and distract the traitor by your very presence.” He pointed to a console in the mahogany desk in front of them, “That will answer any enquiries you may have about the delegates or our situation and history,” With an enigmatic look he intoned “it knows more than they do”. With a nod to Kallen and K’Ehleyr he started towards a small door across the way, “Better get talking” he said to Kaylee and then he looked at Julien, Stark and Konral. “Be ready for anything”. Then he was gone.
