Stark followed, eyes everywhere and probably feeling far too eager for a fight.

They entered at the business end of a large circular meeting room filled with close to a hundred seats that were set on a sloping floor in the style of an old opera house so that all could see each other no matter where they were seated. In the hemisphere in front of their current vantage point to the left were the Gorn, central, the Tholians and right the Breen. In the hemisphere they had entered from they found themselves central with the Romulan delegation to their left and bordering the Gorn and to their right the Human Alliance bordering the Breen.

At this point, every delegation was pointedly ignoring each other and speaking animatedly amongst themselves. As the Athena’s representatives entered a sudden hush fell and then when some of them saw Kaylee the noise level began to rise, swiftly.

Orvos pointed out a sophisticated array of equipment installed on the ceiling. “Everything is controlled from there, speak and you’ll be amplified. I’m going to make sure you get a fair hearing from the control booth, plus from there I can be ready when the traitor tips their hand. You’re here to get them all to agree to work against the Cardassians and Klingons and distract the traitor by your very presence.” He pointed to a console in the mahogany desk in front of them, “That will answer any enquiries you may have about the delegates or our situation and history,” With an enigmatic look he intoned “it knows more than they do”. With a nod to Kallen and K’Ehleyr he started towards a small door across the way, “Better get talking” he said to Kaylee and then he looked at Julien, Stark and Konral. “Be ready for anything”. Then he was gone.

“I wasn’t till you said something… now I will make sure to be so.” Konral joked slightly, he was needing to keep people off edge. If they got their nerves too high things might go wrong. Being able to stay calm and collected was how they were going to succeed.

Stark looked at Konral and grinned like a kid in a candy shop. “I’ve always wanted to fight a real Gorn, it’s on my bucket list. If it all goes west you can have the Breen and the Tholian’s though, been there, done that, got the t-shirt”. He looked a little nonplussed “They used to say that at the academy, whats a t-shirt?”

“You know… I do worry about you sometimes, you need real hobbies… bowling… archery… how about disc golf?” Konral said with an ecsaperated tone as he shook his head. If they were going to do this, might as well do it right.

Stark looked at Konral with his usual infuriating “devil may care” grin. “I have real hobbies…”, He thought for a minute and then came up blank, “Although none of them are legal… disc golf you say… do things explode?”.

Kaylee smiled at her friends’ banter. Then she exhaled deeply and moved a few paces forward, distancing herself from the rest of the group. Partly to identify her as wanting to speak, but also to garner a bit more of a reaction from those in attendance.

She held up both of her hands in the air, palms outward, as if calling everyone to attention.

“I will speak!” She said loudly, gazing slowly around the room as she spoke. “It is my understanding that these peace talks have faltered. I am here to remind you all of why each of you is here in the first place.” Her gaze sought out the Klingon’s and finally rested on the Cardassian delegation. This would not normally be her first move in diplomatic talks, shouting at everyone, but given her circumstance, and the nature of her mirror self, this seemed to be the right move.

Holding the gaze of the Cardassians, she gave pause to see what kind of reaction she would get.

Janna stood just behind and to Kaylee’s left, watching the group intently. Would they cooperate or would all hell break loose? She was pretty sure they’d find out n a few seconds.

OOC Awkward silence… actually the Cardassians and Klingons aren’t there. The Human/Romulan alliance that brought down the Klingon/ Cardassian Alliance is trying to get the Gorn, Tholians and Breen (All 3 in a pact called the Taurus Pact) to join them to make sure the Cardassians and Klingons stay beaten. Let’s just modify that post a bit to be looking at the Taurus Pact delegates and move on eh :-) Sorry I’ve made this so complicated :-(

Zogozin of the Gorn stood to his feet. “You speak liesss, you are an assassin ssssent to spring the trap that they have set for ussss”. With a scaly claw, he pointed to the Human and Romulan delegations. Eddington had joined the Human Alliance group just as the proclamation was made.

Stark tensed and inched one foot backwards ready to spring if necessary. He’d researched Gorn and how far they could jump and he was reasonably confident that Zogozin could get to Kaylee in two leaps… however Stark could get to him before he could make the second. He started calculating vectors humming quietly to himself.

Kaylee smiled. “Oh? And what’s this trap you speak of? Why are you so certain that they have brought us here for ulterior motives?” She gave a quick glance over towards Eddington and then back towards Zogozin.
