Jessica’s blonde head tilted to the side in interest at Nightstalker’s response to her greeting . “It’s always a pleasure to meet someone until proven otherwise,” she commented, her green eyes sparkling and dancing in amusement and delight as she crossed her arms in front of her chest. She contemplated his question for a brief moment and then made a show of raising her left eyebrow. “Do you plan to prove me otherwise?”

Stark met her stare with one of his own, reading every aspect of her being in an effort to learn more of the stuff of which she was made. “It’s always a pleasure to meet someone until proven otherwise” he repeated getting a feel for the words she had said. “You have a very disarming perspective on a universe that seems of late hell-bent on wiping us out,” he put up a clawed paw stabbed the air once as he thought and then put it down again, “As to a plan to prove you otherwise, no, my plan is always and ever to find out more about those who I serve alongside. It is other’s who seem to distrust me instinctively, can I ask why your reaction to me was different, or is it rooted in your first statement?”

While Jessica typically had fairly good posture, she seemed to straighten herself even more behind her crossed arms. “I make my own conclusions about people.” Her reply was simple, but her tone firm. Tapping on the teal trim on her uniform, she continued, “my personal optimism about the universe and the beings in it aside, it would do a disservice to my profession for me to draw conclusions prematurely.” She paused again, the previous amusement returning to her features as she smirked. “So far I’ve learned you think the universe is out to get you.” She winked and shook her head lightly, her ponytail absorbing the movement and swishing slightly.
